6’3, 210 pounds. Debuts inside the Top 300 despite last year being his first year playing varsity football. Closing speed to the football stands out immediately. Alwan has a ways to go in terms of developing shedding moves, he might not be playing with instincts at the OLB spot just yet, yet his tape showcases he can flip a switch from lurker to hunter in a flash. Once he reads and reacts to traffic/flow behind the LOS, this young man can close the gap in a hurry. William Tennent likes to deploy two down-linemen, with four backers bracketing the second level, often moving a safety into the box as well. Alwan excels with his hand off the dirt, letting him read blocks off the edge and play a bit natural looks to suit his skill set.
Alwan’s rep at the 0:52 second mark gives you the idea of the prospect Alwan could be if his full potential unlocks. This is serious speed off the edge, speed that any PSAC in Pennsylvania would love to deploy off the edge. The young man is quickly becoming one of my favorite prospects out of SEPA.
