AJ Watkins is the standout WR from Terre Haute South. AJ finished the regular season with 41 receptions, 879 yards, averaging 97.7 per game, 10 receiving TDs, and 4 games with 100+ yards. I wrote about AJ before the season started and said he would be a breakout player for the Braves. He finished 1st in receiving in the conference, 2nd in Class 5A, and 8th in the state. AJ surpassed his stats compared to last season by a mile. This young man has shown tremendous improvement in just one season, which is not going unnoticed. He has improved his catching and his ability to catch in traffic. There is a difference in his speed and acceleration. AJ Watkins will be a factor in the playoffs and impact a college roster next fall. Check out AJ’s highlights from the season below!
