It’s been a memorable summer for Ralston, Nebraska mauler of an iOL AJMcCormack. And a productive one, at that! PRZ was fresh off seeing McCormack competing well at NDSU the weekend previous, and he was once again a beast in the trench while in Brookings. McCormack, who came in 6’1, 243 lbs., with a 75 1/2″ wing (6’3.5″), and 9 3/8″ hands, and he is a good athlete at his size who is a big-time competitor padded up and in 1v1 run and pass block settings, when it matters most and the competition is the toughest. Against a strong DL group, McCormack’s base and footwork, not to mention the lateral agility and patience, easily allowed him to handle some of the twitchier DL in attendance at the SDSU Jackrabbits’ prospect camp. He displayed heavy hands, a great first step off the snap brings the attack to the DL and still keeps himself square and in good position, and excellent, excellent balance. PRZ never seemed to see this dude slip up or get himself out of position, and he does a great job of adjusting post-contact to handle counters and floundering DL as they attempt to bail themselves out with strength alone. We also were impressed with how he demonstrated how he can fight and readjust for hand placement mid-rep, but is strong enough that he can hold up rushers by keeping square alone. McCormack flashed some powerful finishes and wins against good DL group and even shut down an SDSU offeree and commit a couple of good times for good measure.
McCormack committed to MSU-Moorhead on June 28th, a great pickup for the Dragons netted from the Ralston’s product Summer Camp SZN performance.

will be back as one of the bookend tackles on the Ram’s offensive line. AJ quietly had a great junior season in which he didn’t allow a sack and flashed as both a pass blocker and in the run game. He played right tackle for Ralston, but looks like he should be able to slide to guard at the collegiate level. My biggest takeaway from watching AJ’s tape is that he loves to finish his blocks and will look to drop his opponent in the dirt. He is quick to get off the ball and looks for work right away while displaying the lateral quickness and instincts to pick up blitzes and free rushers in a flash. AJ uses his hands very well and has shown to be difficult to disengage from as a defender. He plays with good bend in his hips which allows him to maintain consistent pad level through his reps. AJ should also be a key defender for the Rams after contributing 14 tackles, a safety, and a blocked kick on the DL last season. Great OL prospect who has shown consistent development in his prep career.
A leader in the trenches, McCormack will enter his senior season as a lineman with ideal height and size, projecting as a strong prospect in the Class of 2027.
While serving as a team captain, he was a mainstay on the offensive line with 15 pancakes and ZERO sacks allowed.
McCormack’s disruptive instincts showed on defense tallying 14 tackles, 3 hurries, 1 safety, 1 pass deflection and 1 blocked PAT.
McCormack earned Honorable Mention All District B-2 honors and is a 2-way lineman with the size, versatility and leadership; he is a MUST watch next season.
