Audubon improved to 7-0 with a 48-8 domination of Coon Rapids-Bayard on Friday night. It was another marvelous performance from Kjergaard. The senior threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns, and added 198 yards and four scores on the ground. He also contributed 5.0 tackles, four of which were solo. There was a stop for loss and a two-point conversion, too. It was a big night in a season filled with them for Kjergaard.

Audubon had more total touchdowns (108) than any other team in the state last season, with the majority of those scores coming from their breakout star under Center in Aiden Kjergaard Aiden Kjergaard 6'0" | 165 lbs | DL/DB Audubon | 2028 IA . Kjergaard threw for 815 yards, 12 TDs, and 1 INT while rushing for 1547 yards (9.7 YPC) and 35 rushing TDs. He also added 4 INTs on defense with 2 returned for TDs. Kjergaard was a perfect fit for the Wheeler’s diverse run-game, proving agile and shifty outside of the perimeter and blisteringly quick when he gets behind the last line of defense. Kjergaard also proved effective as an accurate passer who often was able to find targets down the field with the secondary caught off guard, though his passing numbers could take a hit with just one receiver with double-digit receptions returning on the team next season. Still, Kjergaard should continue to hammer the driving point of the Wheelers’ offense with their dominance in the run.

Like the Tigers, the Wheelers are led in a multitude of stats by their gunslinger. Kjergaard has done most of his work on the ground, taking 106 carries for 1,256 yards and 30 scores. He’s also completed 29-of-37 passes for 657 yards, ten touchdowns and zero picks. Defensively, he’s grabbed four picks, taking two back for scores.
