Cooks had a breakout season for Downey this fall as a first year player and has a bright future with plenty of playing experience under his belt heading into the 2026 season. He is a long and explosive defender with natural ball skills and return abilities and is excellent in run support on the perimeter while not afraid to come up and bang in the box. He plays with patient eyes, fluid hips in transition and breaks quickly on the ball with recovery speed if beat over the top. Checking into our WL rankings for the 2029 class, he has a good shot to enter into our ranks sooner rather than later.
