We mentioned earlier how Holdenville will benefit mightily from having a returning quarterback running their offense. 2027 signal caller Abe Gomez Abe Gomez 5'10" | QB/LB Holdenville | 2027 OK is going to be one of the more experienced quarterbacks in the state this fall. Last season, Gomez took his production to all new heights during his junior season. He finished with over 1,600 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground. He also threw five touchdowns but let’s face it, the Wolverines move the ball on the ground and they’ve done it at a very high level over the last few seasons. With Gomez running the show once again, we think his production could go up and Holdenville could have even more 50+ point outings.

Junior quarterback Abe Gomez Abe Gomez 5'10" | QB/LB Holdenville | 2027 OK returns to run this unique offense in his second season as QB1 of the Wolverines. Last year, Gomez enjoyed a breakout season, finishing the year with over 800 yards on the ground and 15 touchdowns. The 1-2 punch of Gomez and Henderson made Holdenville incredibly hard to slow down in 2025. But Gomez needs a new running mate. But regardless of who steps up at that position, the fact that Gomez is coming into this year with a season of experience makes him even more dangerous to defend. He could end up expanding his overall production this season. He also was productive on the defensive side of the ball in 2024.
