One of the first names in the defensive backfield on our 2A All-State Team, Williams had an excellent sophomore year, both on film and in terms of production. He flies on film and it’s easy to see how he ended up with over 50 tackles and three picks for Murphy. We’d like to see him bulk up a bit and some time in a college weight program could prepare him to be a lockdown corner at the next level.

Murphy is no stranger to having talented athletes on the back end of the defense and Williams fits that mold. He can play multiple positions in the secondary and isn’t afraid to hit people in the running game. He also had good ball production last season, with three picks and several pass deflections. All of that while being among the state leaders in tacklers in the secondary.
