How to Get Noticed
How to Get Noticed
Prep Redzone exists to provide exposure for high school athletes.
Our scouts aren’t specifically told who to cover at games, tournaments, and showcases. Therefore, coverage is never guaranteed for any particular player. There are a few ways you can increase your chance of getting noticed.
- Claim or create your profile Step 1: Establish a presence on Prep Redzone. Learn More
- Share your content Step 2: Maximize every write-up. Learn More
- Reach out to college coaches Step 3: Make a strong first impression with colleges. Learn More
- Gain visibility through coverage Bonus: Put yourself in position to be noticed by Prep Redzone. Learn More

Step 1: Claim or create your profile on Prep Redzone
The Player Profile allows you to tell your story on Prep Redzone. Your Player Profile will exist as its own page and is added to the Prospect Database alongside all future collegiate athletes in your state.
Before our Scouts identify and evaluate your game, you will already have a presence on Prep Redzone — so be sure it’s jam-packed with accurate details.
Once you’re noticed by Prep Redzone, your ranking and articles will automatically appear in your profile without any additional steps. While your profile is managed by you, these endorsements from our Scouts provide credibility for college recruiters.
Be sure to complete the rest of your profile so that when colleges find you in the rankings, Prospect Database, or articles, they gain a comprehensive picture of you as a prospect.

Take full advantage of Prep Redzone: Creating a Player Profile is free. But, a Prep Redzone subscription will also allow you to access rankings, and articles, as well as track your Player Profile views. In order to unlock the full power of your profile, Prep Redzone+ will take all of the information from your profile and create a professional email to send directly to college programs. Prep Redzone+ subscribers also have access to college contact information for every program in the country so that you know who to send it to. Finally, College Match will identify which college is the best fit for you.

Step 2: Gain exposure on social media
Once you’re subscribed, you’ve gained full access to our rankings, articles, and more. Take advantage by sharing your profile and write-ups on social media using the Share Evaluation and Share Profile buttons, found on articles and Player Profiles.
Sharing your evaluation in a custom graphic maximizes your exposure to those not subscribed to Prep Redzone.
The articles provide valuable feedback from Prep Redzone Scouts about your game, primarily focusing on your strengths as a player. Meanwhile, your ranking provides feedback on where you stack up to your peers; especially against players at your position.

Step 3: Share profile with college coaches
A Prep Redzone+ subscription provides access to college coach contact information for every program in the country. Making a first impression with coaches is vital but can be intimidating. For that reason, we’ve designed email templates that will cut through the noise for college coaches, available exclusively for Prep Redzone+ subscribers.
Personalize the email by finishing Your Bio on the Player Profile page. From there, simply click the blue “Share Profile” button at the top of the page to copy and paste the email.
Of course, you’ll want to ensure that you’re sending your email to the right schools by using our College Match and College Database tools. With College Match, you can tell us your geographic preferences, along with academic information, and we’ll rank your fits. Go to each college’s page and snag the contact information for your email. After you’ve sent your first email to the school, we also have a follow-up email customized for you to send afterwards!

Bonus: Gain visibility through coverage
Now that you’ve taken control of your profile, it’s time to be seen in between the lines. Any time you’re covered on Prep Redzone, those articles and rankings will show up on your profile.
Here’s how PRZ Scouts may discover you:
- Live scouting
- Film analysis
- Research
Live Scouting: Scouts attend high school games and offseason events, providing first-hand observations that highlight athletes’ skills.
Although we do not guarantee coverage for anyone, attending events hosted by Prep Redzone is a surefire way to be in the same venue as our Scouts. Therefore, your chances of being noticed by Prep Redzone organically increases by attending our events.
Playing year-round will also increase your chances of exposure. Prep Redzone Scouts attend games and tournaments year-round and prioritize events with a large number of college prospects under the same roof. Therefore, playing well in those events — whether it’s in the summer or winter — is crucial.
Film Analysis: We utilize platforms like the Prep Redzone Player Profile, Hudl, BallerTV, and NFHS to review game footage, giving athletes another avenue for exposure.
Share and update your film often! Prospects should be easy to find and active on Prep Redzone, Hudl, and social media. This enables our Scouts to analyze your game through as many channels as possible.
Research: Identify → Evaluate → Write
Keeping up with other scouts, social media, and resources such as All-State Teams helps us identify new prospects. From there, Prep Redzone Scouts can update their schedule and make sure to get a first-hand look at you.
Prospects serve themselves best by being easy to find and competing in crucial exposure events in their state.
Take full advantage of Prep Redzone: We offer $25 discounts to all of our showcase events for Prep Redzone+ subscribers, increasing your chances of being noticed by our Scouts. With Prep Redzon+, you will also be sent a monthly recruiting tip via email as part of our Recruiting Newsletter — many of which go into greater detail about how to get noticed during the recruiting process.
