Hard to believe we are 1/3 of the way through the regular season but here we are. Below are a few that caught my eye from Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1293270' first='Skyler' last='Williams']-QB-North Murray

The 6'3 Junior QB passed for 350 yards and rushed for 142 yards with 5 TDs in a 38-35 loss to Northwest Whitfield. I got to see him Live Friday for the 1st time. Great touch on the long pass and has some zip on the short throws. He would be the 1st to tell you ball security is the number one thing to work on. Williams has accounted for over 1700 yards total offense through 4 games and has the size and athleticism to play at the next level.

Gavin Nuckolls-QB-Northwest Whitfield

The 6'0 Sophomore continues to be one of the surprise newcomers in the 2023 season. He was 26 of 43 with 345 yards and added 81 yards on the ground for the Bruins. Most of Nuckolls work came in the 2nd half in a 38-35 win over North Murray. Northwest was down 28-0 early in the 3rd Q and rebounded to win on a last second FG. Poised QB that has a bright future ahead with the Bruins.

Carlos Randall-Ath-Mt Zion Eagles

The 5'5 145 Senior RB/DB has showed his versatility early in 2023. Has scored in multiple ways for the Eagles who are off to an impressive 3-0 start in 2023. Randall finished 4th in the 100m this Spring in Class A and has shown his speed scoring from the backfield, catching passes, and on punt returns. Had over 100 total yards Friday in an upset win over Heritage Newnan.

[player_tooltip player_id='885985' first='Peyton' last='Chancey']-MLB-Gilmer Bobcats

The 5'11 Freshman LB had an outstanding game at the LB position Friday in an upset win over previously unbeaten Ringgold in a convincing fashion 31-7. Chancey recked havoc in the Tiger backfield all night with a couple of sacks and several TFLs. Good vision with a quick first step. Has the size and strength at 185 pounds to shed blockers and explodes to the point of contact. Definitely a player to keep an eye on in Elijay over the next 4 years.

[player_tooltip player_id='908912' first='Kaden' last='Hamilton']-Ath-Hiram Hornets

On a team loaded with talent, Hamilton is a new name that has emerged this season as the Hornets are off to their best start, 4-0, in over a decade. Over the last two games the 5'7 Junior has averaged over 10 ypc with 3 TDs, including 2 rushing TDs in Fridays win over Morrow. Elusive runner with breakaway speed, he has been impressive on special teams totaling close to 200 kick return yards over the last 3 weeks, including a 98 yard game winning kick off return 2 weeks ago. Hiram is looking like they could make a deep run in the playoffs and Hamilton is one of the many Hornets to keep an eye on.
