Thurman checks a lot of boxes as a major D1 recruit with his impressive physical traits and skillset. At 6’4” 210 lbs. he’s got a great combination of length, speed and athleticism. For his size, he shows high level movement skills, speed and body control. On both sides of the ball at WR/TE and Edge he plays violently while flashing good strength and physicality at the POA. He plays through contact and finishes opponents to the ground. At WR/TE, he’s a natural pass catcher with a large catch radius that extends outside his framework. Understands how to box out defenders at the catch point and use his coordination and tracking ability to high point the ball. Thurman turned plenty of heads last off-season against top tier competition and is a true burner from the tight end/receiver position with strong hands and a true open field gear. He can effectively run both in-breaking and outbreaking routes and make defenders miss in space after the catch with short area quickness and wiggle while showing under-rated speed in the open field.
