Oak Grove (1-0)
The Warriors were our pre-season number 1 team in the state and they showed why by running straight thru Wayne County 49-0 in the week one victory. Coach Causey ‘s bunch dominated in all three phases and handed Wayne County their worst loss in school history.
Picayune (1-0)
Don’t look now, but the Maroon Tide looked like they picked up right where they left off in 2022 with a huge victory over 7A Brandon on the opening night of the 2023 campaign, winning 28-21 on the road. Chris Davis Chris Davis 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Picayune | 2024 State MS did Chris Davis Chris Davis 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Picayune | 2024 State MS things by running for 242 yards and 3 TD’s right out of the gate. Nobody wants to see this bunch on their schedule.
Louisville (1-0)
What an opening night for the Wildcats of Louisville, knocking off traditional rival West Point 35-13. The Wildcat defense is a worthy contender for unit of the week by holding star Green Wave running back Kahnen Daniels Kahnen Daniels 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB West Point | 2024 State MS in check all night and also accumulating 6 sacks.
Warren Central (1-0)
The Vikings knocked off Clinton for their 7th consecutive Red Carpet Bowl victory and solidified it’s position in the Top 10, winning 28-7. Another defensive unit that played at an elite level, the Viking D forced 4 fumbles, recovering all 4.
Jefferson Davis County (1-0)
An 18 point 4th quarter is what it took for the Jaguars to knock off the larger-classification Hornets on the road in week one action. The boys from Bassfield look to be right in the thick of things as always in region 6-3A.
