As a quarterback, he has a good arm and does an excellent job of throwing the football. He does a good job throwing the deep ball. His arm is solid, but he anticipates when and where to throw the ball when he is throwing it deep. He is also a good runner, as he runs with the ball well, especially in short-yardage or goal-line situations. Mahla is a good quarterback prospect who has the potential to improve going forward.
