Checking in as a top ten linebacker in the state within our rankings, he is a true mike backer with length and closing speed in the pocket, while showing some cover abilities in space and ball skills at the POA. He moves well laterally when scraping over the top and takes good angles in the open field. Able to play both inside or outside linebacker, he is a very fluid athlete that can roam around and trigger quickly in space, while setting the edge and a sure tackler in the open field. He is a bit undersized for the position, but makes up for it with physically in the box and quick COD abilities and bend around blockers in the box. He currently checks in just inside our top twenty at the linebacker position in our most recent update. Lipps shows good speed, bend around blockers and is a active tackler in space, taking good angles and flashing closing speed in the open field. Lipps also shows that he can cover downfield or trigger into the flats, with a high football IQ and natural instincts in zone coverage. He is a no brainer D-III+ player at the next level and will make a positive impact on a college roster. Look for Lipps to be one of the better two-way players across the region this Fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
