Early-morning workouts, late-night film sessions and more all come together to make for an interesting time right now.
We’ll do our best to spotlight those still searching for homes here, so feel free to message us any prospects that we miss.
Jerry Chada, Fort Dodge
Fort Dodge boasted one of the best cornerback tandems in the state this past year in Sam Daniel Sam Daniel 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Fort Dodge | 2021 IA and Jerry Chada. While teams hated to pick on the side of the field that Daniel held down, Chada made it just as difficult on his side.
The senior picked off three passes and recorded 28.5 tackles, including 22 solo stops and one for loss. Slightly undersized, Chada shows excellent ball-hawking skills that help him make up for that size.
Gabe Sievers, Newell-Fonda
An incredibly gifted athlete, Gabe Sievers shined bright on the field this past fall for Newell-Fonda. The Class of 2021 standout recorded almost 800 yards passing and 800 yards rushing, scoring 24 touchdowns.
Sievers, who checks in at 6-foot, is exceptionally quick and has excellent vision that allows him to break would-be tackles and find the open field. A multi-sport athlete, Sievers has several key tools.
Ty Nissen, Carroll
There is one key variable that separates the good teams from the great ones: special teams. Carroll’s Ty Nissen will be a valuable asset to some program with his strong leg.
Nissen averaged almost 40 yards per punt this past season, racking up nearly 1,600 yards on 40 kicks. That is such a luxury to have with a great punter, as it can flip the field or pin a team deep in its own territory.
Edgar Mendoza, Storm Lake
The Storm Lake defense caused problems for teams this year thanks in large part to the play of Edgar Mendoza. Along with making 35.5 tackles, Mendoza racked up seven sacks and nine stops for loss.
Mendoza might just be 5-foot-9 and 155 pounds, but what he brought to the field was strength and power. His ability to get to the quarterback and reach the backfield put opposing teams behind the 8-ball many times.
Ethan Heiter, Spencer
Spencer’s Ethan Heiter is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds of pure football player. Heiter combines great size with speed and strength, helping him record 7.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss.
Heiter has all the tools to really standout on the football field at the next level.
