I’ve written about Isaiah before, so it is not a surprise that I’m at my desk hitting these keys again. Champagne had an explosive camp in Ft. Worth on Saturday showing off his speed and quickness. He ran fast and consistent 40 times both clocking in at 4.5, but his route running was the real highlight. Zay comes in and out of his breaks violently, so much so that he sounds like a boxer throwing a combination in the ring. His speed is there, but his quickness and footwork are what creates his separation. With interest from Coastal Carolina, UTSA and others make sure that you watch this one closely this year. He’s surrounded by a very good Pieper team that went deep into the playoffs last year and with Southside transfer, and camp QB MVP, Cayden Keeth Cayden Keeth 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Pieper San Antonio | 2025 TX taking the reins in that high powered offense it’ll definitely make for an exciting season.

Lil Wayne said, “Lights off, Masks on, Creep silent”, but, for Isaiah, I’m saying, Lights on, Casts off, Keep slidin! His speed allows him to get a step on defenders deep down the field, creating explosive opportunities for the offense. But the Louisiana native is more than just a straight-line threat. He possesses exceptional agility and route-running ability, making him a nightmare to cover in man-to-man situations. His quick cuts and sharp changes of direction leave defenders grasping at air, allowing him to create separation with ease. This combination of speed and agility makes Champagne a constant target for big plays, stretching the field vertically and horizontally. Opposing defenses will have to pick their poison – try to jam him at the line and risk getting burned deep, or give him a cushion and watch him dip through defenders for yards after the catch. Isaiah brings a skillset that injects excitement and unpredictability into every play. The cast is off and this Pieper Warrior is ready for The Coliseum.

He goes by the name Zay 2 Shifty and for good reason. This 5’10 versatile WR can play in the slot as well on the outside with his for sure hands and mind blowing route running ability. Isaiah knows how to get in and out of his breaks at full speed while snapping his head around to locate the ball and makes every catch with his hands. Last season Champagne in just 10 games managed to rack up 1,014 yards for 9 touchdowns on 79 receptions and from the offseason he’s putting together I believe that number will increase drastically this fall after he puts together an impressive summer of camps and visits.
