Saskatchewan is loaded for next-level talent and this batch of prospects sets the tone with what I am talking about for sure!
Liam I have ranked as DB1 in Saskatchewan due to his extremely smooth ball instincts. I also love Liam’s physicality from the early point of attack into his 1v1 reps, as he provides a tiny window of operation for the wide receiver to operate into. Liam also brings excellent footwork to the table as his feet show off extreme balance and rhythm. This 6’0 175 pounder defensive back is a 2025 prospect I wouldn’t wait around to offer as all throughout Canada, he’s tapped across the board as one of my top DBs in the 2025 class.
Owen may be built more like a linebacker at 6’2 207 pounds, but this kid is a downhill freight train you don’t want to want to have to bring to the turf. He also has much more agility with his change of direction than you would expect a RB to have with his size. Owen also has some athleticism with his route-running as well and has more route creativity than the bulk of the running backs I watched in the 2024 class with a more developed frame. Owen is my RB1 in the 2024 rankings in Canada and also has fluid bounce off contact as an offer now running back prospect that I can’t find a Twitter account for yet.
Brady is a quarterback prospect that has some solid precision with throwing on intermediate/deep routes. He also has a smooth base going thru his progressions with pumps and good vision with his eyes on his finish with his throws. I also like Brady’s consistency you see on tape with his mobility as he has the legs to get the short yardage when needed however has the excellent poise outside of the pocket to not lose anything off his touch ball. He is certainly one I will be tracking this fall to see his growth, as I see Brady as a potential stockriser when we look at the 2024 rankings in the next 3-4 months.
Highlights
Jacob is a linebacker prospect that impressed me as one of my early look prospects to the Canada prospects with his instinctive first step. Not just is he instinctive, his step to ball has fluid bases of agility from my eyes. I can tell early, that Jacob reads to me as a sideline to sideline linebacker which is another reason why I had him as one of the top linebackers in Canada. He also has the physicality that lies consistent throughout his tape you want at the linebacker position. Jacob has two offers thus far and is destined for more by the end of the summer as a LB prospect I would offer right now at 6’2 210 pounds.
Carlos is a DE prospect that caught my eyes at the NDSU prospect camp a couple weeks back. I love just how soft Carlos hands are getting off his sheds and that is one of the first skillsets I saw in Fargo out of him which attracted him to several Northern Sun college coaches at NDSU. When you get to watch Carlos’s tape, I love watching his football IQ built into his elite vision as this young man shows plenty of instincts with his clinging to the football. I also love the range Carlos plays with as he’s not going to be a defensive end that will only shade the inside box, as Carlos has some of the deepest range in the outside box I have watched amongst this defensive end group in the 2024 rankings. Expect to see more offer come this young man’s way as a hot commodity brewing higher at the NCAA Division II level.
Liam might be one of my favorite downhill linebackers I have watched tape on from his 2024 linebacker class. Not only does this young man play downhill on every play, but at 6’3, this kid has some extremely lengthy strides to get home quickly into the wheelhouse of the backfield. He also grows on tape with his instinction in pass coverage as Liam has a fine football IQ of knowing where to be as he grows his skillsets even deeper into his final season of high school football. He also a quick trigger with his change of direction too as that is another skillset that pops out if you are a ball carrier, you might have to watch yourself with this kid at middle linebacker. This young man should certainly attract plenty of U-Sports offers and NCAA offers by the end of the summer as one of the top linebackers in the country.
