The University of Northern Colorado held a mega camp yesterday, hosting a handful of college programs and hundreds of student-athletes from various locations around the country. Camp attendees ranged from incoming freshmen to current junior college players, all chasing the opportunity to land on a college's radar and potentially earn a scholarship.

One person could not possibly see every kid, and limited reps did not help. However, there was a real opportunity for players to shine, which happened for more than a few attendees. [player_tooltip player_id='624823' first='Cory' last='Jackson'] (CB) from Eaglecrest, [player_tooltip player_id='875528' first='Brendon' last='Crispe'] (OT) from Arapahoe, and [player_tooltip player_id='875537' first='Jackson' last='Quammie'] (WR) from Brighton are three 2024 prospects who earned Division I offers from UNC after putting on outstanding performances throughout the camp.

The cool thing about mega camps is that there are other college coaches in attendance, giving prospects the opportunity to earn offers from other institutions as well. In fact, a few D2 programs that were in attendance offered a handful of the campers. Black Hills State University offered [player_tooltip player_id='253619' first='Colton' last='Mills-Younger'] (TE) from Poudre, [player_tooltip player_id='146050' first='Ramon' last='Pacheco'] (DB) from Pine Creek, and [player_tooltip player_id='875547' first='Hunter' last='Hamilton'] (DE) from Columbine following the camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='733400' first='Trey' last='Olsen'] (DB/ATH) from Loveland and [player_tooltip player_id='875554' first='Jordan' last='Leslie'] (WR) from Mullen earned offers from the University of Sioux Falls, and South Dakota Mines gave offers to Ralston Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='826239' first='George' last='Patterson'] (OLB/DE) and Golden's [player_tooltip player_id='697552' first='Mason' last='LaBrie'] (DB).

There were a lot of head-turners at the camp who undoubtedly earned a spot on the radars of multiple programs during the camp. Wide receivers [player_tooltip player_id='381228' first='Keenan' last='Campbell'] (2024) from Fountain-Fort Carson, [player_tooltip player_id='271172' first='Solomon' last='Latimer'] (2024) from Doherty, [player_tooltip player_id='732361' first='Micah' last='Lumpkin'] (2024) from Sierra, [player_tooltip player_id='875538' first='Jace' last='Hines'] (2024) from Fairview, and [player_tooltip player_id='283701' first='Ja'Pree' last='Jennings'] (2026) from Mountain Vista are a handful of names that could be heard buzzing among some of the coaches, especially during one-on-ones.

It should come as no surprise that [player_tooltip player_id='381201' first='Omari' last='Bursey'] (2024 LB) from Legacy, [player_tooltip player_id='232153' first='Austyn' last='Modrzewski'] (2025 QB) from Mountain Vista, and [player_tooltip player_id='276508' first='James' last='Basinger'] (2025 RB/DB) from Columbine caught the attention of onlookers early in the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='710194' first='Landen' last='Holloway'] (2024) from Denver East, [player_tooltip player_id='875548' first='Dylan' last='Juarez'] (2024) from Arapahoe, [player_tooltip player_id='381202' first='James' last='Cillessen'] (2024) from Columbine, and [player_tooltip player_id='547631' first='Landon' last='Kalsbeck'] (2026) are four linebackers who immediately stood out due to size, speed, explosiveness, and competitiveness.

Recruiting is a process that involves grinding it out at camps and building relationships with coaches in hopes of finding a good fit at the next level. Not everyone has the same camp experience, but each camp attendee has an opportunity to learn and grow, making yesterday's event a success for many student-athletes.
