Whitcomb is a young raw receiver that has a lot of short yardage burst, he posted some good numbers in testing and will look toward this offseason to hone in on his technique. He was a player that took what he was being told and tried to apply it to live periods and in drill work. Once he is able to not think as much and just play his stock will take off. He showed some good footwork and was able to show some good things throughout the day. He is a young talented receiver and will be a player to watch to see if he is able to piece it all together.
Fruge was able to walk away with the MVP for OL not only for what he was bale to do on the field but for being able to be coachable and apply what he was being taught. He did show a lot of explosiveness in his shuttle and carried that over to indy work. From indy he was able to show good footwork being smooth through the bag work and when they started working on pass protecting he was able to listen and apply what the coach was telling him. He is a player that shows a lot of upside/talent and will be a player to keep an eye on moving forward.
Lautzenhiser is a player with a lot of speed and was able to put that on full display at the tour. He posted the fastest 40 time on the day and looked good in the shuttle as well. He continued to show his speed throughout indy and looked smooth being able to get in and out of his breaks. He looked good in coverage when he started going against receivers and was able to disrupt some of the things receivers were trying to do. Has good vision and can open up his hips well to not let the receiver get behind him. Will be a player to put on the radar moving forward going into his senior season.
Candelarie was an explosive receiver that was able to post one of the best shuttles on the day, showing his ability to explode out of his breaks. He is a player that showed the ability to create space with his speed and can make some quick cuts as well. He showed that he can work as a speed cut receiver that also has soft hands at times in indy. When they began to work body control he showed to be at the top of his group and looked comfortable. Will be an under the radar guy to keep an eye on.
Bernunzoni was a player that got better as the day went on and he began to get more comfortable as he got going. He showed good footwork in drill work and was smooth in his execution, planting his foot in the ground and exploding out to break on the ball. He is a young talent that has the ability to cover multiple positions on the field and can stay in the receivers hip pocket. He has good instincts and can play through the receivers hands, punching through and knocking the ball out. He will be one of the younger DB’s to keep an eye on.
Frasier is an explosive player with some nice size to him that had some solid all-around numbers from the tour. He was able to standout in a crowded running back group. Being able to show some good footwork in drill work and looked relaxed throughout making quick bursts and showing his agility. When they started working against the backers and DB’s he showed good route running ability as well as some soft hands to come down with some catches. He is a young player that is looking to burst onto the scene and will be a RB to keep an eye on moving forward.
Highlights
Shepardson was a player that was able to make an impression early as he was able to be one of the overall fastest guys on the day. He was showing that speed and explosiveness throughout drills and was able to continue that against the receivers as well. He is able to react quickly being in and out of breaks, driving on the football to try and make a play. In indy and going against receivers he was able to get to his depth and drive up on the underneath routes. He was a player that was flying to the ball and shows the ability to be a ball hawk. He will be a backer to keep on your radar looking ahead.
