Commitments, Offers, and Recruiting Notes from March 2023

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>COMMITMENTS</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>March was a huge month for some of the top talents in Mississippi's recruiting scene. Multiple players at or near the top of their positions have committed to their future program after finally getting on campus this offseason.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Out of Pascagoula, defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='139602' first='Jeffery' last='Rush'] made his commitment to Ole Miss and will be on campus next week. In a loaded defensive line class, the Rebels have already secured one of the top prospects at the position. Rush brings a ton of athleticism and length to the defensive line room in Oxford and is bound to be a vocal recruiter for the program up until signing day.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another coast product, [player_tooltip player_id='139596' first='Noreel' last='White'] from St Martin elected to commit to Arkansas and is the 3rd player to commit in their 2024 class. White has a unique skill set and could play either defensive back or wide receiver for the Razorbacks. More than likely, he is being recruited as a wide out that will play in the slot to fully utilize his twitch and route running ability.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Committing to Tennessee earlier this month, top ranked prospect [player_tooltip player_id='273255' first='JJ' last='Harrell'] will be the next wide out to put up huge numbers in Coach Heupel's system. Harrell is one of the state's top players and is seen as a potential NFL talent if he continues to develop down the right path. This was a huge get for the out of state Volunteers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another one of the state's top prospects [player_tooltip player_id='344053' first='Chris' last='Davis'] made the decision to commit to in-state Ole Miss last week. Davis is the first running back to commit in the 2024 class and is a big time addition for the Rebels. The Picayune product brings a ton of speed and position versatility to Oxford and will be heavily utilized across the formation in Coach Kiffin's high scoring attack.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ole Miss has been doing a great job at securing some of the state's best talent early in the process. In addition to Rush and Davis, LB [player_tooltip player_id='139603' first='Fred' last='Clark'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='344026' first='Jeremy' last='Scott'] made their commitments to the university following a big time recruiting weekend. Clark is one of the state's highest ranked linebackers and brings a physical presence that can cover downfield to Oxford. Scott is an explosive wide out that can take the top off the defense, but also has the length and height to make plays from the outside. The Rebels show no sign of slowing down with the 2024 class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Capping things off, offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='910463' first='TJ' last='Lockhart'] out of Winona committed to Mississippi State. Lockhart has been a player that has exploded onto the recruiting scene as coaches have began to sift through film of prospects nationwide.
