It has been a busy across the Natural State with plenty of prospects receiving scholarship offers and planning camp visits for this offseason. In this week’s recruiting update, we have knows from all areas of the state. Sit back and get caught up on the latest news and notes.
Isaiah Taylor-Defensive Back-Fayetteville-2024
The Fayetteville defensive back is going to be a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. Taylor has the speed to play the cornerback spot and he is physical enough to play the safety position as well. Isaiah Taylor impressed many last season with his physical play and tackling ability. The talented Fayetteville defensive back earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas-Pine Bluff this week. I expect Taylor to earn more scholarship offers over the course of this season.
Chauncey Johnson Chauncey Johnson 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Lonoke | 2024 State AR -Offensive Line-Lonoke-2024
Over the past few seasons, Chauncey Johnson Chauncey Johnson 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Lonoke | 2024 State AR has become one of the most impressive offensive linemen in the state. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and looks to finish every block with a pancake. Johnson is a versatile player on the offensive line and can play the tackle or guard spots with equal effectiveness. Johnson earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas-Pine Bluff earlier in the week. He is another prospect that you can expect to rack up plenty of offers over the next few months.
Cody Taylor Cody Taylor 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Greenwood | 2026 State AR -Offensive Line-Greenwood-2026
The offensive line focus will continue with Greenwood’s Cody Taylor Cody Taylor 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Greenwood | 2026 State AR . Taylor has a terrific mix of power and speed that he puts on display every snap. He is an offensive lineman that fires out of the stance and gets into the opposing defensive lineman quickly. Taylor had the opportunity to visit Tennessee State this week. Taylor is an offensive lineman that college coaches are going to want to watch in person over the next few seasons. He has the potential to be a prospect we see play on Saturdays in the future.
Kobe Branham Kobe Branham 6'6" | 320 lbs | OL Fort Smith Southside | 2024 State AR -Offensive Line-Fort Smith Southside-2024
One player that is seeing his recruiting blow up over the past few weeks is Fort Smith Southside’s Kobe Branham Kobe Branham 6'6" | 320 lbs | OL Fort Smith Southside | 2024 State AR . Branham is a devastating run blocker. He has no problem creating a rushing lane for his teammate. Branham does a great job of finishing his blocks and always looks to get to the second level. The scholarship offers and recruiting momentum has picked up in full force for the talented Southside lineman. Branham earned three scholarship offers this week. Central Arkansas, Air Force, and Oklahoma State all extended scholarship offers. The recruiting battle is in full swing and he is a prospect to watch out for this season.
Aquavious Dunbar Aquavious Dunbar 6'3" | 215 lbs | DB Lakeside | 2024 State AR -Athlete-Lakeside-2024
Aquavious Dunbar Aquavious Dunbar 6'3" | 215 lbs | DB Lakeside | 2024 State AR is one of the most athletic prospects in the class of 2024. On the offensive side of the ball, Dunbar is a physical runner with good speed. He will not go down on initial contact. He can run through tackles and does a good job of making opposing defenders miss. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball he is a hard-hitting safety. Dunbar has no problem separating the ball from the ball carrier. Dunbar is building recruiting momentum and he earned a scholarship offer from Southeast Missouri and Arkansas State earlier in the week. Congratulations go out to Dunbar; he is going to blow up this season from a recruiting perspective.
