Over the past few weeks, we have seen several 2024s break through the “first offer” ceiling and have begun to make names for themselves on the recruiting circuit. I wanted to look at the 2025 class and try to predict the next players to receive offers.
There are five 2025 players currently holding offers:
Christian Jones Christian Jones 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE – LB – Omaha Westside
Offers: Southern California, Kansas State, Wisconsin, Kansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Nebraska.
Tyson Terry Tyson Terry 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Omaha North | 2025 State NE – DL – Omaha North
Offers: Colorado, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Minnesota, Kansas, Iowa State, and Nebraska.
Caden VerMaas Caden VerMaas 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH Millard North | 2025 State NE – ATH – Millard North
Offers: Nebraska
Sebastian Circo Sebastian Circo 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Millard North | 2025 FL – QB – Omaha North
Offers: Syracuse, Miami, Penn State, Temple, Boston College, and Ole Miss.
Jackson Carpenter Jackson Carpenter 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Lincoln Southwest | 2025 State NE – WR – Lincoln Southwest
Offers: Northern Iowa
Pierce Mooberry Pierce Mooberry 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH Millard North | 2025 State NE | ATH/TE/LB | Millard North | 6’4″ 200 lbs
The Mustangs already saw one of their 2025 prospects pick up a D1 offer when Nebraska offered Caden VerMaas Caden VerMaas 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH Millard North | 2025 State NE . I think we could expect to see Pierce join him in the D1 offer ranks soon enough. Mooberry had a great sophomore season on both offense and defense, ending with 404 receiving yards, five receiving touchdowns, 45 tackles, ten tackles for loss, four sacks, and an interception. Pierce is a versatile player that could see himself getting recruited as a tight end or outside linebacker/edge rusher. Pierce is a match-up nightmare on offense that can use his size and athleticism to outjump defenders to make catches at the high point. On defense, his speed, length, and explosiveness make him a terror coming off the edge and allow him to make huge plays in the backfield. He’s received interest from several Big 10 schools like Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin and has even visited those schools on game days.
Pierre Allen Jr Pierre Allen Jr 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE . | DL/LB | Lincoln Southeast | 6’2″ 205 lbs
Pierre Allen Jr Pierre Allen Jr 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE . is a player I believe is primed to have a huge offseason this year. He put people on notice after finishing the season with 75 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two passes defended, two fumble recoveries, an interception, and three touchdowns. Allen is an interesting prospect since it’s still not clear if teams will want him playing defensive end or outside linebacker but will likely be a force either way. Allen is extremely explosive coming off the line and plays with a mean streak. He’s violent with his hands and hips and has shown all the traits of a great edge rusher. In an interview with Pierre, he stated that he’s been receiving a lot of interest from Wyoming, Oklahoma State, and Northern Iowa and has heard from Nebraska as well.
Alijah Wayne Alijah Wayne 6'4" | 225 lbs | ATH Omaha Central | 2025 State NE | TE/LB | Omaha Central | 6’4″ 205 lbs
With a new coaching system in place, we could see sophomore Alijah Wayne Alijah Wayne 6'4" | 225 lbs | ATH Omaha Central | 2025 State NE blow up in 2023. However, I think we can expect to see him make a splash before the season kicks off if he performs well at camps and showcases this off-season. Alijah has the measurables and talent to become a D1 prospect at either tight end or outside linebacker. He had a more productive season at outside linebacker with 56 tackles, three tackles for loss, an interception, and a pick-six, but his upside at tight end is also something to consider. Wayne is a natural athlete that is still starting to scratch the surface of his immense talent. Alijah has taken game visits to Mizzou, Iowa State, and Kansas and has received interest from Nebraska.
Kalvin Janssen Kalvin Janssen 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Gretna | 2025 State NE | OL | Gretna | 6’4″ 260 lbs
Sophomore Kalvin Janssen Kalvin Janssen 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Gretna | 2025 State NE left quite an impression with his outstanding 2022 season. The lights never seemed to be too bright for the young sophomore as he manned the right tackle spot for one of the best offenses in Class A, even under the spotlight of the state championship game. Throughout the year, Kalvin displayed a very seasoned game with solid fundamentals. He can use his power and short-area explosiveness to blow up and dominate defenders at the line of scrimmage. I am not sure which teams have inquired about the gritty O-lineman, but with the number of players Gretna has sent to play college ball, I wouldn’t be surprised if D1 programs were already in communication with Kalvin.
