Tamyus Pugh – DB – 5’8″ 150 – Clarke County HS / @tamyus1
Pugh has a knack for interceptions and pass breakups. His awareness when a ball is tipped is lethal as well. Pugh is an instinctual player who has a bright football IQ. He checks the receiver’s hips a lot to predict where the next cut will be. If a team beats him one time with one route, he often puts that in the back of his head and locks it down the next time out.
Preston Lancaster – QB – 6’0″ 210 – Tuscaloosa Academy / @prestonlancas13
Lancaster has excellent poise in the pocket. He can stand tall and deliver a throw right before he gets hit. Lancaster understands when the pocket will collapse and can make a play to move away from the pressure. He does a fabulous job of keeping his eyes down the field when doing so.
Kaleb Robinson – QB – 5’8″ 160 – Whitesburg Christian Academy / @KalebRobinson_5
One of the great things about Robinson’s game is that he is not good, but great when he has to make it happen on broken plays. More than a few times, Robinson had the pocket break down quickly on him, forcing him outside. Luckily, he has the ability to create in those situations, both with his arm and legs. Look for this to translate to the college level rather nicely.
Malachi Allgood – LB – 5’9″ 150 – Thorsby HS / @AllgoodMalachi1
Allgood has a non-stop motor as he always smells blood to make a play on the ball. There are not many times he is not actively hunting the ball carrier and causing disruptiveness. Even if he gets blocked, he will keep active and try to make his way back for a chase-down tackle.
Ford Beeker – LB – 6’1″ 200 – Tuscaloosa Academy / @FordBeeker12
Beeker is a great wrap-up tackler which is a benefit of his length. Some guys may possess a similar motor that he does, but can’t finish the play with a tackle. That isn’t the case with Beeker, as he gets to the ball carrier and makes sure he gets them down. He also gets a lot of guys down in the backfield, seen in his TFL. That doesn’t happen unless you have a good wrap-up ability and don’t allow the ball carrier to get away.
