After sitting just outside the top 100, Tyler Houser Tyler Houser 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Pope John XXIII | 2025 State NJ now finds himself within the top 50. Houser, a standout linebacker from Pope John, showed out this season. An absolute plug in the box, Houser is a sure tackler that reads his keys quickly and effectively. Able to play both over the top and underneath, he can also quickly bail to his drop and make a play on the ball. For a linebacker, Houser appears to have softer-than-expected hands, making a play on many passes. Division-1 size is a given for this top prospect, as he moves sufficiently from sideline-to-sideline as well.

In another correct prediction from my game preview coverage, Tyler Houser Tyler Houser 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Pope John XXIII | 2025 State NJ would be utilized to control the tempo and the clock. He did that, and then some, for the Lions. Despite coming up short on the scoreboard, the Demon Deacon-to-be was all over the field on Friday. Houser led all participants with 14 tackles in the game and 10 solo stops.

Houser’s senior campaign was arguably his best. He concluded the season with 124 tackles (93 solo), 13 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception, and 1 pick six. For his career, Houser finishes with 300 tackles (192 solo), 32.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions, 1 blocked kick, and 3 defensive scores.

Tyler Houser Tyler Houser 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Pope John XXIII | 2025 State NJ is that linebacker’s name and he has a few outstanding academic offers to continue being a student-athlete. Houser’s first office came from the Tar Heel state via Duke University. Since then Houser has received offers from UMass, Princeton, Syracuse, and Army.

Here we have a Pope John product that is an old school big hitter. Tyler Houser Tyler Houser 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Pope John XXIII | 2025 State NJ played phenomenally as a sophomore, racking up 76 tackles and 3 sacks. For being a bigger linebacker, he moves extremely well and is very agile. He can get into the backfield before anyone sees him coming. Tyler runs downhill to meet the runner, and delivers punishing hits consistently. I am excited to see what the next two years hold for him.
