Breakout Prospects Earn First Offer

January is a big month for prospects in Georgia, and this week we saw some up and coming prospects earn their first offer.   Who are they?   Let's take a look...   Rasean Dinkins - ATH - Warner Robins   AA new 2025 defensive back to know in Middle Georgia, Dinkins was excellent last season as a sophomore for one of the top 5A programs in the state. Warner Robins is always full of talent, and Dinkins was able to shine as a sophomore playing around other talented defenders. He flashed D1 potential all year long, and this week he earned his first off from Florida State. A good athlete with some versatility in the secondary, he covers a lot of ground in the back end and knows how to make a play on the ball in the air. He's great in zone coverage but can also play on an island due to his size, quick feet, and closing speed. He's also reliable against the run and shows the ability to make a big tackle. He made 57 tackles last year as a sophomore with four of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. He was also tremendous in coverage, picking off an eye-opening 8 passes last year. He has receiver-like hands and became a true game-changer on defense for the Demons last year. Just a sophomore last year, Carter showed the ability to run routes and beat defenders down the field. At 5-foot-1 170-pounds, he flashed D1 potential last year and this week he earned his first offer from Georgia Southern. Playing for a Lowndes program back on the rise, look for Carter to be a go-to option for the Vikings offense next year as a junior. He shows big play ability, has some speed to his game, and showed strong, reliable hands last year in his second season. He's a young receiver to know who has a chance to have a breakout junior season this fall. His two brothers were able to land major D1 offers and now the youngest Weeks prospect has one of his own, earning his first offer this week from South Florida. A tough, physical blocker on the edge, Weeks showed that he has impressive ball skills as a defender and should have a bigger impact next season as a sophomore. His natural talent and athleticism is easy to notice, and it's clear he has a very bright future ahead of him at Oconee County. He's great in coverage, reads the quarterback well, and closes quickly on receivers with the ball in the air. He's excellent in zone coverage and can bait quarterbacks into throws they shouldn't be making. He's also a dependable defender against the run who knows how to lower his shoulder and deliver a strong hit. He does a lot of things well and was a consistent defender in all aspects last year as a junior. He's one of the more versatile defensive backs in the area and knows how to make a sure tackle in the open field. He's worthy of some D1 offers, and this week he earned his first Power 5 offer from Duke. As a junior last year, McCrary made 86 tackles and forced three fumbles.
