With Chase, bringing him up to the Rankings was a no-brainer. Turning on the tape, Chase is utilized as a Swiss army knife player. Offensively, Chase is the Quarterback. On special teams, Chase returns kicks, Defensively, he plays Safety.
Starting with Special teams, Chase showcases his good open-field vision and powerful running. I wouldn’t call Chase an elite kick returner, though he displays the athleticism to be a great returner at the college level. Defensively, he’s a good safety. I would like to see better aggression when it comes to run defense. Still, put Chase at safety, and you won’t need to worry about much.
Where Chase truly shines is on offense. Although he’s put at Quarterback, his true upside comes in his running ability. Running the option, Chase has a few instances of phenomenal vision. In addition, he has the top speed to explode up field and good contact balance. Plus, he proved to have great athleticism at the recent Western Michigan camp. Chase has the stuff to be a good D2 prospect. I’d love to see better twitchiness and change of direction in the future, and if we see improvement next season, he’ll earn offers.

at the Western Michigan camp. On film, he’s a dual-threat quarterback, but I don’t think he’ll be playing quarterback in college. Instead, he shows a ton of upside as a running back. At Western (and many other camps I didn’t attend) Chase showcased his athleticism, way above-average testing times, and overall abilities outside of QB. Because Chase went through a gauntlet of camps, he’s earned an offer from Wayne State.

Chase has been on the Watch List thus far, but he’ll be on the official Rankings during the next update. On film, he’s a swiss army knife type of player. Primarily a kick returner and quarterback, Chase excels in showcasing his athleticism with his feet. Running QB option, Chase explodes through the hole and is quite elusive in the open field. On top of that, he looks fast and runs incredibly hard. When I saw him at the Western Michigan prospect camp, he was a huge standout. Chase 100% deserves more attention than one D3 offer so far. He will be ranked with D2 talents.

Chase has a fun film to watch, as he plays a super entertaining style. He has really good accuracy on his deep ball, and can throw on the run with accuracy. He is dual threat, and can really hurt defenses with his feet. He gets the edge super easily and has great breakaway speed. If he can continue to work on his touch on short and intermediate throws, he could develop into a really well rounded quarterback with plenty of tools at his disposal.
