Have a look at the state’s top 10 RBs, with the overall top 100 for 2025 referenced here https://prepredzone.com/oregon/rankings/2025-rankings/. You can expect this list to double in the coming year.
Please Note: Individuals will only be listed on one side of the ball
RB
1. Hudson Hardy Hudson Hardy 6'3" | 220 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2025 State OR 6-3 200 West Linn
I would expect Hardy to be one of the state’s top overall players next season from his RB spot, while projecting on D as an elite OLB prospect. His size and overall versatility is appealing from a recruitment standpoint.
2. Kameron Rague Kameron Rague 6'1" | 195 lbs | ATH South Medford | 2025 State OR 6-1 180 Cascade Christian
Rague will most likely project as a safety at the next level, but was dominant from his RB position playing small school ball down South. On the year he totaled 1,519 yards and 22 TDs, while averaging 12.1 yards per carry. He will be the overwhelming favorite for state player of the year honors, per his classification, the next two seasons.
3. Maliq Smith Maliq Smith 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Tualatin | 2025 State OR 5-11 175 Glencoe
Another kid who could end up in the secondary collegiately. That said as he had an outstanding year offensively, earning 2nd team all-conference honors, and finishing with 823 yards and 11 TDs. He should be considered one of the most versatile kids in Oregon for his class.
4. Brody Thomas Brody Thomas 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Sheldon | 2025 State OR 6-1 205 Sheldon
As most know Brody is the brother of 1st team all-state and conference player of the year Brock Thomas Brock Thomas 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Sheldon | 2023 State OR . Injuries and a deep Sheldon roster have kept him off the field thus far. Look for him to be a featured athlete and one of the best in Oregon for his class.
5. Dontrell Betts Dontrell Betts 5'7" | 185 lbs | RB Roosevelt | 2025 State OR 5-7 185 Roosevelt
Not the biggest kid, but a likely PIL Offensive Player of the Year in the seasons ahead. As a sophomore he earned 1st team all-conference honors. He has the luxury of playing for head coach Ryan McCants, a former standout RB at Oregon St.
6. Tyler Newbury Tyler Newbury 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Central Catholic | 2025 State OR 6-0 180 Central Catholic
Newbury had a good season as a sophomore for a loaded Rams team. In limited time he averaged 7.1 yards per carry on 30 rushes, with 4 TDs. He will be one of the best in the conference defensively as well, making 43 tackles this past season.
7. Jake White Jake White 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Seaside | 2025 State OR 6-0 180 Seaside
Not a lot of people know about him playing for 4A Seaside but the film speaks for itself. He went for 1000+ rushing the ball, while averaging 7+ yards per carry, and close to 20 TDs.
8. Jackson Farris Jackson Farris 6'2" | 225 lbs | RB Valley Catholic | 2025 State OR 6-2 225 Valley Catholic
The 2x 1st team all conference athlete is a bruising RB who can also play some D. Head coach Michael Snyder has done a great job with the program in general.
9. Nick Bocchetti Nick Bocchetti 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Clackamas | 2025 State OR 5-8 160 Oregon City
Expect big things from the undersized scat back next year. 2nd team all state RB Marcus Jordan Marcus Jordan 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Oregon City | 2023 State OR is graduating, and Bocchetti can do a little bit of everything, as proven this past season with some ridiculous stat lines at the JV level.
10. Wyatt Andler Wyatt Andler 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Wilson | 2025 State OR 5-10 190 Wilson
Andler had a good year, earning 2nd team all PIL honors as a sophomore. He was a big reason for the teams 5 wins, averaging close to 6 yards per carry and double-digit TDs.
