Here are five awesome running backs from the class of 2024 to keep an eye on in 2023!
In 2022, Jordan Marshall Jordan Marshall 5’11” | 190 lbs | RB Moeller | 2024 State OH helped the Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders to a 13-win season, average 31.7 points per game and advance to the Division I Semifinals. He exhibits elite vision combined with outstanding burst as he explodes into the secondary. He uses his very good combination of elusiveness and power as he is quick enough to make DB and LB miss and also possesses outstanding contact balance and power to break tackles from larger LB with ease. He exhibits quality play speed as he scores on a long touchdown run. He is a good receiver coming out of the backfield as he shows good hands making the catch with one hand before picking up significant YAC and scoring a touchdown.
In 2022, Sam helped the West Holmes Knights to a 12-win season, average an impressive 49.9 points per game and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. His good vision allows him to quickly find the open hole. He displays elite power and contact balance as he breaks tackles from DL with ease. He accelerates to top speed quickly before scoring a touchdown after picking up several yards after contact. He is a reliable receiver as well as he runs swing routes and shows good hands as he makes the catch with his hands away from the body. After the catch is made, he effectively uses his quality play strength to break tackles from Db and LB before picking up a first down.
In 2022, Tito helped the Marion-Franklin Red Devils to a 6-win season and average 21.1 points per game. He is quick through the hole and shows outstanding athleticism and play speed especially for a RB of his size as he outruns all defenders easily for a long touchdown run. He shows very good physical and mental toughness as he doesn’t shy away from contact when running inside as he breaks tackles from LB with ease. When lining up in the slot, he gets open quickly down the seam and exhibits solid hands as he makes the catch before accelerating to top speed quickly and gaining significant YAC.
In 2022, Nate helped the Big Walnut Golden Eagles to a 10-win season, average 35.7 points per game and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He uses his very good vision to process what is in front of him and shows good lateral quickness and agility to get to the edge and turn the corner. He accelerates to top speed quickly before scoring on a long touchdown run with ease. In the passing game, he effectively reads the coverage before breaking open. He displays good hands as he makes the catch and uses his good athleticism to score easily.
Tanelle’s very good play in 2022 was a bright spot in the 1-9 season of the Brush Arcs. He quickly finds the open hole with his solid vision. He exhibits good short area quickness and keeps his feet moving on contact as he breaks tackles from DL and LB. He shows very good play speed in the open field before scoring on a long touchdown run. He plays with excellent mental toughness as he rises to the occasion near the goal line as he scores a TD consistently. He is solid in the passing game as he makes the catch with his hands away from the body before picking up a first down.
