was the heartbeat of Horizon in all three phases. He even flashed on defense with a sack, but his real value showed up late against Cactus: Horizon leaned on him to salt it away, and he kept churning first downs until the clock cooperated. Through the opening stretch he’s been wildly efficient (330+ rush yards at 9.5 a carry), and the staff clearly trusts him as the closer. Patient to the hole, great balance through contact, and enough burst to bounce when the front squeezes inside — he’s the guy you hand it to when you need the game to end.

‘s game. At 5’11” and 195 pounds, he’s built to handle a real workload, and his tape backs it up. He’s got that smooth mix of burst and power, able to hit a crease and turn upfield or lower his shoulder when needed. His balance is outstanding — the kind of player who just refuses to go down on first contact, even in what should be a clean tackle. What really stands out is how natural he is with the ball in his hands. He has a strong feel for space, can shift gears mid-run, and keeps his legs driving through traffic. There’s a real three-down quality to how he plays, and as he continues to sharpen his burst and quickness, he’s only going to become more of a problem for defenses.

will be the head featured weapon for this Horizon offense. Leading the team in rushing yards last season with 605 rushing yards with an average per carry of 4.7, he is ready to boost those numbers even higher this next season. He is a dangerous man in space, with exceptional elusiveness and jump-cut ability that allows him to change direction at a moment’s notice. He has the speed to put distance between himself and the defense while running with a stocky, tough demeanor that makes it challenging for secondaries to bring him down. He demonstrates that he can catch it out of the backfield as well as pass block when needed, all qualities he will look to elevate this upcoming year. Zamorano is set to put himself as one of the most overall well-rounded backs in the state.

Zamorano is a 3 year starter for Horizon and has a big opportunity at his hands to pop loose his senior season. Really good vision and instincts as he’s shown the ability to make opponents miss at the LOS and quickly find and react to narrow lanes with a burst. Good jab step to bounce runs outside immediately when the hole is plugged as well. Good speed in the 2nd level with big play ability, which I expect to see grow here this fall.

Zamorano has been highly productive as a three-year varsity starter for Horizon totaling over 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns in his career. At 5’11” 195 lbs. he’s a quick footed ball carrier that shows plus vision and instincts to find open running lanes. Patient as the play develops but is decisive when he sticks his foot in the ground to get downhill. Flashes good balance to absorb contact and break tackles while maintaining forward momentum carrying the ball with good pad level and leverage. Like his versatility as a back being able to run between the tackles, turn the corner to the outside, or catch the ball out of the backfield. Has been a two time First Team All-District and Region selection and was also named Second Team All-State.

is the definition of a workhorse running back for Horizon. Averaging over 125 yards a game as just a sophomore, he found his way into the endzone 14 times on the ground and another through the air. As a quick yet patient runner, he does a great job of letting his linemen open up lanes. The other advantage of waiting for the play to develop is that he gets an excellent view of the field and his sharp instincts allow him to make some spectacular cutback plays. As such a productive back already, Zamorano averaged 5.8 yards a carry; I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see that number take a big jump in 2024.

is 5’11 180 pound sophomore out of Horizon high school. Zamorano was starter as a freshmen and began his freshman campaign with 160 yards on 17 carries. Zamorano is tough to take down in the open field. and spends most of his day making defenders look silly. He can change directions on a dime with jump cuts that help him find holes. With the ball in his hand he has great vision finding open creases for good runs. His speed is displayed through his burst when hitting the hole and taking rushes the distance. Zamorano is one of Arizona’s rising stars.
