Ma’rrell Fountain RB Olathe East
The 5’8 165 lb Senior RB had an impressive game against Shawnee Mission North. He is the 9th ranked RB in the class of 2021. He carried the ball for 222 yards and 3 TD in a 28-6 Olathe East victory. When looking at the film, he shows very good burst through the hole, accelerates to top speed quickly and displays excellent contact balance as he usually does not get tackled after the initial contact. Shows very good ruggedness as he runs behind his pads and lowers his shoulder as he runs over larger defenders and falls forward for a few extra yards. Shows good play strength as he executes a powerful stiff-arm breaking tackles from DB with ease.
Devin Neal Devin Neal 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Lawrence | 2021 State KS RB Lawrence
The top RB in the state was held to under 200 yards rushing for the first time this season but still played a tremendous role in a 37-28 Victory over 5A powerhouse Bishop Carroll on Saturday afternoon in Lawrence. During the game, Neal had 117 yards on 17 carries and a TD. He played about 3 quarters before exiting the game with an injury. Bishop Carroll was by far the best defense that he faced all year and he still averaged nearly 7 yards per carry.
Jaden Mayfield DL Blue Valley West
The play of Junior Defensive Lineman Jaden Mayfield was a bright spot in Blue Valley West’s 37-7 lost on Friday night to Blue Valley High School. He had 7 tackles and a sack. He plays primarily as a NT. He fires off the ball at a good pad level, shoots his hands quickly and violently as he pushes the pile, he uses his very good play strength to shed the block and uses his instincts to chase down the ball carrier preventing him from a significant gain. When rushing the passer, he displays a good motor as he is constantly moving towards the QB, after shedding the block, uses his quickness and agility while in pursuit and uses his size and power to bring down the QB with force.
Greyson Holbert Greyson Holbert 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Blue Valley | 2022 State KS QB Blue Valley
The 6-1 185 lb Junior QB looked awesome against Blue Valley West in a 37-7 Victory. He is currently the 23rd ranked player in the class of 2022. He was an effective passer as he completed 12 of 21 passes for 164 yards and 2 TD. In addition, he showed very good mobility as he rushed for 52 yards on 17 carries and had a TD on the ground as well. He sees the field well, displaying very good arm strength as he throws an excellent deep ball to receivers on go and corner routes. He shows very good ability to deliver the ball accurately while on the move on short, intermediate and long passes. On QB designs, he displays very good play speed and athletic ability as he is able to get to the edge and turn the corner while gaining significant yards consistently.
Philip Vesta DB Shawnee Mission Northwest
The 5’11 150 lb Senior DB showed tremendous heart in a 35-34 loss to powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. He made 17 tackles and a TFL. He plays primarily as a FS. At the snap of the ball, he displays excellent football intelligence and instincts as he quickly keys and diagnoses the play, uses his very good play speed as well as his range to play sideline to sideline and uses his excellent explosiveness and leverage to bring down larger ball carriers with force easily. In coverage, he is able to read the QB and uses his closing speed while tracking the ball in the air and times his hands effectively to make a PBU.
