I like Kuehl’s vision coming out of the backfield. In the Dragons’ offense, he is lined up deep in the backfield – giving him plenty of time to scan the line of scrimmage and find a crease. He uses his good footwork to do a great job setting up his blockers – especially in the open field. He has good speed, especially when getting the corner on a sweep. He is not the biggest back, but his pad level is low, and his leg drive allows him to power through more tackles than you would think. He just crept over the 1000-yard milestone as a junior with eight touchdowns.

Another elite athletic tester and strong performer on the field was the Litchfield ’24. The 6′ 175 lbs athlete has a frame that can continue to be filled out for the next level wear and tear. His athleticism already looks the part though with his 4.65 40, 9’4″ broad jump, 4.28 pro agility, and 7.12 L Drill. Lukas is a fluid athlete with the flexibility and body control to get all the power and explosiveness out of his lower half. The potential is there to get excited about. I went to his tape to see more, and it is clear that Lukas is a game breaker with his speed and elusiveness. Keep an eye on this talented RB.

The Litchfield Dragons have some exciting prospects on the rise and 2024 RB Lukas Kuehl certainly caught my eye while I revamped the 2024 rankings for our latest update. Solid vision and can generate noticeable burst out of his cuts, Kuehl can also drop his hips and create some shifty cuts back play side when he’s got some space. Compared to a lot of other RBs on this list, he brings a lot more length to the table and has a frame that could really develop and grow in a college S&C program. No Twitter so I hope he sees this!

The Litchfield phenom put together a great junior campaign, racking up over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns while still averaging over five yards a carry.

combines patience and acceleration to hit gaps while they are still open, allowing him to get four or five yards up the field untouched in some instances. His skill set works especially well on quick pitches, as he is able to gain steam horizontally while simultaneously waiting for the play to develop. His base is excellent, which allows him to change directions and shrug off would be tacklers. I also noticed a recurring stiff arm, one that was strong enough to ward off opposing middle linebackers. Kuehl is a powerful back with good vision, and many programs at the next level could benefit with him on their roster.
