Dietel uses his hands and his length well when rushing the passer. He keeps separation – allowing him to keep blockers off-balance and get off blocks. The junior is athletic enough to play inside and outside and with his hand in the grass or as a stand-up defensive end. When inside, he was too quick off the ball for the interior linemen he faced. He has already developed a nice swim move. As an offensive lineman, he comes off the ball with good knee bend and a low pad level.
