However, three Buffaloes starred on the defensive side proving they were not afraid to lock horns against the 2019 Class 5A State Runners-up.
Here is a scouting report on Southeast’s key contributors on defense.
Defensive Stars of the Game
DE, Pedro Lopez, 6’0”, 156 – Lopez has a high-revved engine and it did not stop during the one-sided loss. The senior led Wichita Southeast with seven tackles. He projects as a JUCO level talent.
LB, Cypress Sallee, 6’1”, 175 – Sallee is quick and hard-nosed. He wraps up well and sheds blockers instead of running around them. He is quick enough to run down plays from the backside of the play. Salee had four tackles against Northwest.
DB, Isiah Rodriguez, 5’7”, 140 – Rodriguez is a member of the Class of 2022 that scouts and recruiters should keep an eye on. He is quick and can bring the wood. He had four tackles against the potent Grizzlies offense.
All three Southeast players are looking for their first college offers.
