<p>Remsen St. Mary's became the first 2022 Iowa prep football champion Thursday morning with a 38-6 victory against Wayland WACO in the 8-player title game at the UNI-Dome. The Hawks won their third ever crown, the second in the last three years. The Warriors finished up a great campaign at 13-1. </p>

<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='152686' first='Brenden' last='Fisch'], '23, RB/LB, St. Mary's -</strong> Fisch went out in style with 134 yards and four touchdowns rushing in his final high school game. He added two catches for 14 yards and a score. </li>

<li><strong>Cael Ortmann, '23, QB/LB, St. Mary's - </strong>Ortmann put together an efficient performance that complemented Fisch well. He completed 12 of 16 passes for 156 yards and a score. </li>

<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='152618' first='Jaxon' last='Bunkers'], '23, WR/LB, St. Mary's - </strong>The do-everything senior hauled in four passes for 86 yards, totaled four tackles, including one for loss, recovered two fumbles and kicked off six times with two touchbacks. </li>

<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='152901' first='Alex' last='Schroeder'], '23, RB/LB, St. Mary's - </strong>Schroeder stood out on both sides of the ball. He caught five passes for 44 yards, added 54 yards rushing, and racked up 6.0 tackles (5 solo, 1.0 for loss). </li>

<li><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='320701' first='Simeon' last='Reichenbach'], '23, RB/LB, WACO - </strong>Reichenbach left it all on the UNI-Dome field Thursday. The senior brought in four catches for 60 yards, added 32 yards rushing, averaged 47.5 yards on two punts, returned three kicks for 51 yards, booted a 48-yard field goal, recorded touchbacks on all three kickoffs, logged 6.0 tackles, including one for loss, and forced a fumble. </li>
