Portillo is one of the better interior offensive linemen the region has to offer and is no doubt a next level player. He is very strong at the point of attack while playing with a low hat and strong base/leg drive and excels at blocking in the box. He is a high IQ kid that understands pass protection and has a strong inside punch when drive blocking. He is athletic enough to block at the second level, scrape to linebackers and pull when needed while running through contact and finishing blocks downfield. He should see D-III+ interest come his way as he progresses through his Senior season.
Perez is a big, fast and physical linebacker that can play both inside and outside but projects as an inside linebacker in college. He is a long strider that closes quickly, can violently get off blocks and plays with a low hat in the box. A true plug in the middle, he is explosive in the short area while exploding through contact and taking good angles in the open field. Perez also shows he can rush the passer off the edge with a quick use of hands, explosive first step and natural bend. He is a very intriguing prospect with some upside as he can play multiple positions in college and pack on more weight to his frame.
Wahl has ideal size for the position and has under-rated athleticism outside of the pocket both when throwing on the run and when taking off in the open field. Playing for one of the top teams in the state, he has a big time arm downfield throwing his receivers open and able to fit the ball into tight windows. Surveying the field, he moves defenders with his eyes and can move through his progressions quickly while accurate underneath and not afraid to take what is given. He is a FCS caliber kid and can make a big impact at the next level.
Highlights
Taggart is one of the most explosive and versatile weapons across Idaho and can can no doubt help a team in college. Operating out of the slot and backfield, he is quick twitched with impressive short area quickness/wiggle to make people miss in tight windows and understands how to settle and beat zone coverage while displaying strong hands in traffic/ball location abilities. Able to catch the ball from various angles, he has a nice burst out of the backfield with some open field speed and contact balance at the POA.
Highlights
Maile is part of a very strong linebacker core across the state in the 2023 class and is another no brainer FCS+ player at the next level. Having ideal size and build for the inside linebacker position in college, he is athletic, can run sideline to sideline and is very explosive at the POA. Maile is a big time hitter in the box with natural instincts and quick play recognition while able to naturally move laterally and make plays outside the tackles/navigate through traffic. He shows he can time up pressures from various angles and brings a very nice thump upon contact. A high motor and tough kid, he is by far one of the most under-recruited kids across the state.
Williams has established himself as one of the top pass catchers across the state. So far this season, he has hauled in 49 catches for 700+ yards and 6 TD’s. He is very explosive in the open field, can run a wide variety of routes and shows elite tracking abilities downfield while able to stretch the field. Underneath, he is quick in his breaks and has fluid hips when baiting defenders to trigger and shows lateral movement abilities when breaking open field tackles. Williams is a well put together kid that should be closing in on his first offer sooner rather than later.
