Only time will tell who remains on this list, and who might surprise other players who are on the current rankings.
Aden Allsbrook- Montgomery Central
Leading the state in tackles at this point of time is Aden Allsbrook, who is proving to start to develop a commanding lead. Going into week 10, he has already racked up 148 tackles this season, with an average of 16.4 tackles a game. To add to this, he has also totaled 2 sacks, 4 tackles for a loss, 32 solo tackles, and 116 assists. If this doesn’t speak for itself, we don’t know what will. Even despite his great efforts, his production has not been enough to keep his team from destruction, as Montgomery Central currently has a 0-9 record, and is still chasing their first win of the year. Hopefully for Allsbrook and his team, they can finish the year as strong as his production has been.
Ben Watson- Newton-Conover
After 9 games this season, Watson has performed at a very high rate, in which per game, he has put up averages around 15 to 15.4 tackles a game. This has contributed to a total of 139 tackles this year, with 76 of them being solo, and 63 of them being assists. Among these numbers also lies the fact that Watson has been very active in the backfield against ball carriers, and passers. This has been reflected by the fact that he has totaled 4 sacks this season, with 6 tackles for a loss. As we inch closer to the end of the season, expect him to continue to play at a high rate, and put himself and his team in position to make big time defensive plays, along with positions to win the game.

, who has a total of 132 tackles this season, with a majority of them coming from solo tackle situations. Specifically, Wright has racked up a total of 76 solo tackles, and 56 assists, which only further proves his ability to be all over the field, and to make plays whenever his number is called. With this, Wright has proven to be able to make plays in the backfield, as he has currently racked up a total of 7 tackles for a loss, and 3 sacks.
Bryant Blevins- Ashe County
Blevins, who happens to be the only player on this list who has not played 9 games, has still found a way to compete with the best of the best in the state when it comes to tackle totals. After just 8 games, Blevins has racked up an average of 15.6 tackles a game, and a total of 125 tackles so far this season. Out of all of these tackles, 97 of them came with assists, and 28 of them were solo. With this, Blevins also made 3 tackles for a loss, and contributed with 1 sack as well.

Tied with Blevins happens to be B-loftin, who currently sits with 125 tackles as well. Perhaps the biggest difference between the two though, happens to be the fact that he achieved this in 9 games, rather than 8. Nevertheless, he has contributed to his team in huge ways, including his tackles in pursuit, and in the backfield. At this point of time, he has a total of 14 tackles for a loss, and 3 sacks. To add to this, he has also racked up 71 assists, and 54 solo tackles, which proves that he can put up a large chunk of production all on his own.
