definitely fits more in the category of “underrated prospect” when it comes to this class. Phelps was not 100 percent during his junior season but he came back and had a very strong senior campaign in 2023. Unfortunately, Casady has flown under the radar in the past because they don’t compete in the OSSAA. That won’t be the case moving forward. But the Cyclones still have some names that you need to know about each season. Phelps is one of the fastest linebackers in this class. He was tracked multiple times during the fall with blazing times.

is a prospect we wrote about this offseason and the curiousity would be how he looked when he was back to 100 percent. Phelps was anything but that last season as a junior and yet he still found a way to make an impact. This season, Phelps has been healthy and the production has absolutely taken off because of it. We’re impressed with the numbers that he’s put up in the tackling department but then you include some other numbers to know and it definitely has us intrigued. Phelps was clocked at 22 MPH at one point a few weeks ago and that is absolutely moving at the linebacker position. We’re interested to see his recruitment with his senior film making the rounds.

. When we break down the film of Phelps, it’s very easy to see that the football IQ is there with Phelps as he does a very good job of understanding the gaps along the line of scrimmage and which one he should attack. Phelps is a linebacker prospect on the rise within the 2024 class. We recently got to check out his film and he’s very impressive in the open field when it comes to wrapping up and bringing down the ball carrier. Phelps has the ability to be a hard-hitter but he doesn’t rely just on that when he’s bringing down the ball carrier.
