Landyn was doing it all for his team in the win against Coon Rapids. He was responsible for 6 total touchdowns with 5 coming through the air and an additional coming on the ground. He totaled 253 yards passing, completing 14 of his 24 attempts and rushed for 102 yards on 20 carries. The Huskies have been arguably the best offense in the state this season with so much talent all across the board. Through six games they are averaging over 40 points per game and that is largely due to how good Landyn has been playing. They will take on Monticello this Friday.
Caden has been dominating teams rushing the ball all season and that did not stop in the Week 6 win over Little Falls. The senior RB ran for over 300 yards in the victory, carrying the ball only 15 times. He found the end zone a total of 3 times with those touchdowns coming from 42, 66, and 99 yards out, showcasing the game breaking speed he possesses. With this incredible performance, Spence has already eclipsed 1,200 rushing yards on the season. Zimmerman currently sits at 5-1 and will have an away matchup with a tough Milaca squad this week.
Highlights
Sawyer absolutely dominated this past week in the victory over Benilde-St. Margaret’s. The senior RB ran for a season-high 300 yards and 4 touchdowns on an absurd 40 carries. He used his breakaway speed to finish the win with several runs over 20 yards. He has been the workhorse for Hill-Murray all season and has already surpassed the 1,000 yard mark with two games left in the regular season. Seidl has solidified himself as one of the top running backs in the state and currently holds offers from five different Division 1 programs.
Highlights
Reese Turner
Reese Turner
Reese continued his standout senior season with another elite performance in the Friday night victory over Orono. His combination of speed and strength was on full display all game as he was constantly shedding off opposing tacklers and breaking off long runs. He finished the convincing win with 235 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 carries. A very efficient outing for Turner with this being his second game over 200 yards on the campaign. Chaska is currently sitting at a solid 4-2 record and will host undefeated Robbinsdale Armstrong in one of the top matchups of the week.
Jefferson has gotten out to a tough start to the season, but got their first win of the year this past week. That was mostly due to how they utilized Daniel differently in their offense. Listed as a wide receiver, he usually lines up in the slot or out wide, but took some direct snaps in a “wildcat” position. This paid off big time with Freitag running for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 9 carries, adding a 9 nine yard catch to his statline as well. The Jaguars look to carry this momentum into the final two games of the regular season!
Highlights
McEnelly has gotten out to a dominant start to his senior season and it does not look like he is slowing down anytime soon. The gopher wrestling commit carried the ball 22 times this past Friday, racking up 175 yards and finding the end zone twice. He can really do it all as a rusher, being able to outrun opponents, break tackles with his strength, or make defenders miss with different combinations of jukes and spins. Max and the Wildcats will look to bounce back after the tight loss to Chanhassen, hosting St. Louis Park next in a Friday night duel.
Highlights
St. Thomas Academy is still undefeated through the first six weeks of the season and that is in large part to their success on the ground. Savion went off in the win over Mahtomedi, carrying the ball 24 times for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns. This was a season-high in all three categories for the junior RB. The rushing tandem of Hart and Love Adebayo Love Adebayo 5’9″ | 195 lbs | RB Saint Thomas Academy | 2023 State MN have been wreaking havoc on defenses all season and look to carry this dominance into the final two games of the regular season and playoffs. The Cadets look like one of the lead favorites in Class 5A.
Highlights
Reggie Carter
Reggie Carter
Reggie and the Falcons are 6-0 this season and have continued to get big win after big win. The senior RB could not be stopped this past week, rushing for 140 yards and 3 scores on 25 carries. His team has leaned on him more and more as the year has gone on as he has seen 20+ carries in the last three games. Carter has been very efficient all year and is one of the most underrated players in the state. Armstrong is looking to run the table and finish the regular season undefeated, but will face off with Chaska on the road this week in a very anticipated matchup.
Sam has had an incredible senior season and is currently tied for the states leader in receiving touchdowns at 12. Defenders had no answer for him in the win over Coon Rapids as he torched them for 131 yards on 7 catches and scored 3 touchdowns. He is truly the full package at the wide receiver position and has been unstoppable this year with his speed and hands. Musungu holds offers from a multitude of different Division 1, 2, and 3 programs right now and I expect that list to keep growing if he continues to turn in these kinds of performances. Andover has a Friday night matchup with Monticello next.
Highlights
Josh has clearly been Chanhassen’s lead receiving option all season and he had a great performance in the big overtime win over Waconia this past week. The senior WR caught 11 passes, turning that into 120 yards and a 19 yard touchdown in the second quarter. He does a wonderful job being able to track deep balls and fight through contact to make tough catches. Och and the Storm will have a Thursday matchup with Holy Angels this week in a battle of 5-1 squads. Should be a good one!
