[player_tooltip player_id="38948" first="Henry" last="Hesson"], Avon, 6’2, 195
This is one of the quickest rising QB prospects in the midwest. Hesson has a quick release, overall impressive touch, and solid arm strength. He has good footwork in the pocket and understands what the defense is giving him. Right now he holds a few MAC offers, with a big senior season, I wouldn’t be shocked if a few Power Five programs came into the picture and extended him an offer.
Lincoln Roth, New Palestine, 5’11, 175
New Palestine has a real good one with Mr. Roth. On-film he understands matchup issues and will get the ball out of his hand quickly. He’s got the wheels to pull the zone read and take it to the house on a defense. This kid can add a completely other dimension to an offense in the QB run game. What he may lack in height he more than makes up for with a high football IQ.
[player_tooltip player_id="38992" first="James" last="Arnold"], South Adams, 6’3, 195
When you look at the overall body of work from 2019, it’s tough to not include [player_tooltip player_id="38992" first="James" last="Arnold"] of South Adams. As a junior he put up eye-popping numbers, throwing for 3,170 yards and 43 touchdowns. To me, he has to be one of the state’s most accurate passers. He’s a true gunslinger who will sit in the pocket and consistently go through his progressions. This guy has no issues throwing long field side throws as and in my mind deserves a heck of a lot more recruiting attention moving forward.
[player_tooltip player_id="38983" first="Maximus" last="Grimes"], Valparaiso, 6’1, 210
When you watch the film of Grimes, you can’t help but notice his ability to extend plays with his feet. When facing pressure from the outside he constantly climbs the pocket with his eyes downfield looking for a target to hit. When he does cross the line of scrimmage, he’s shifty for a bigger guy and tough to bring down in space. He transferred to Valparaiso this offseason and should be a key cog to their 2020 season.

Peyton Horsley, Decatur Central, 6’, 190
This is one of the state’s more underrated quarterback prospects. At six feet tall, Horsley may not be the biggest QB in the world, but man he’s not afraid to hang in there and take a shot if it means completing the pass. He was excellent off play-action in 2019 and showed an innate ability to extend plays with his feet. He throws well on the run and is equipped with a strong arm. He played mostly under-center last season, but I think he’s a legit shotgun spread offense quarterback at the next level.
