Question I Want Answered: What is Friedman’s Recruiting Ceiling?

Based on Davin Friedman Davin Friedman 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Cathedral Prep | 2026 State PA ‘s new ranking, I would feel comfortable projecting Friedman as a high take on PSAC boards. Providing a Division 1 grade to a Quarterback just doesn’t happen often, I’m not sure I’m ready to say Friedman is a sure bet to see traction from FCS programs recruiting Western Pennsylvania passers. That being said, I do think that’s Friedman’s current ceiling. Likely a name PSACs will have on their boards, yet can Friedman show me something at this camp that makes me certain he’s worthy of a Top 200 ranking? Is 295 the highest Friedman can climb on our ranks? Seeing him dominate over some fantastic QB competition at this camp would go a long way in making me feel comfortable enough to raise his rank further.

STANDOUT TRAIT ON TAPE: Throwing Motion, Size, Timing and Anticipation

Very excited to see Cathedral Prep’s Davin Friedman Davin Friedman 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Cathedral Prep | 2026 State PA working at our PRZ PA camp next month. Checking in on his recent tape, I’m through the roof about his potential in the recruiting scene out West. The second-highest-rated QB coming off the watch list. I’ve had my eye on Friedman since he was a freshman, pleased to see exemplary tape out of him. Throwing motion is clean and compact, allows for quick decisions to be made. Good follow through, puts the sword in the sheath. Composed and calm in high-level situations. Heard good things about his work-ethic. Many anticipatory throws on tape too.

The 2026 watchlist quarterback has shown flashes this season especially on tape. You can see his arm strength clearly on tape, he has the ability to rocket balls down the field and into a tight windows. That being said, he does have a 44.6% completion percentage this season, a number that will absolutely have to improve in his senior season, he also has seven interceptions this season, a number we’d like to see cut a bit down. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Friedman, however, is a strong athlete, he’s also a very good baseball player for Cathedral Prep and an even better student in the classroom with a 4.7 weighted GPA.

Davin Freidman has a chance to be the starting quarterback for Cathedral Prep this year. He has all the tools to play at a high level at the QB position. He needs the experience and opportunity going forward. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:

“ Davin Friedman Davin Friedman 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Cathedral Prep | 2026 State PA has limited film, mostly from Junior Varsity, but he played quarterback well. He has good mechanics and does a nice job of getting rid of the ball while in rhythm. He does a good job of making the right read and getting the ball to the open receiver. Friedman also shows good mobility. Friedman should have a good chance at starting on Varsity this year”.
