Clovis quarterback Chance Harris Chance Harris 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Clovis | 2021 State NM is undeterred.
Harris, who verbally committed to Colorado State on May 18, told Prep Redzone New Mexico that nothing has changed regarding his pledge to the Rams.
“I’m 100 percent committed to (Colorado State),” Harris said. “All of that stuff is not true whatsoever. I talked to the coach I’ve been in contact with.”
Saturday, a group of Colorado State players released a shared statement on social media to support first-year CSU head coach Steve Addazio and dispute accusations against the program.
In the statement, the CSU players addressed several issues, including the allegations of racism and verbal abuse they described are “patently untrue.” It included the hashtag “CSUunited.”
“Our experience since Coach Addazio’s first day has been positive, welcoming and focused on our development as student athletes,” the statement read. “To be absolutely clear, we have not experienced any racially insensitive comments to our teammates from the athletic department or coaching staff.
“It is clear to us the false allegations have been leveled by individuals who are not associated with our current football team. . . We know the truth. Ask us, not unnamed sources and former coaches who have an ax to grind. . .this team is confident we will and can achieve to a great degree with Coach Addazio and his staff.”
Addazio was named Colorado State head coach in December after spending seven seasons at Boston College.
