As we continue our look towards football this fall, we look at Pennsylvania's top five wide receivers in the class of 2021.
[player_tooltip player_id="27189" first="Marvin" last="Harrison Jr"] (St. Joseph’s Prep): The son of NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Harrison Jr will look to finish up his high school career with another big season for Philadelphia power house St. Joseph’s Prep. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide out has everything you look for in a No.1 wide receiver. He has the size, the speed, the physicality, catch radius, he has it all and that’s why he’s a top-three prospect in the state and our top ranked wide receiver. Harrison is committed to play his college football at Ohio State where he’ll play with his current quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="27192" first="Kyle" last="McCord"].
[player_tooltip player_id="27212" first="Chamor" last="Price"] (Gateway): Price is the top wide receiver in the WPIAL in the 2021 recruiting class and the No.2 wide receiver in the state. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound wide out possess a great combination of speed and vision, not to mention being a good route runner. He’s also versatile as not just a top wide receiver for Gateway but also a dangerous return man. He’s currently receiving offers from mostly Group of Five programs but has gained offers from Syracuse and Wake Forest.
[player_tooltip player_id="27217" first="David" last="Pantelis"] (Upper St. Clair): Pantelis is a player who would’ve benefited greatly from a normal spring and summer when it comes to camps but now he’ll have to wait for his performance on the field this fall to speak for itself. With that, with strong senior season, Pantelis is a recruit who could be a late riser among Power Five programs. On the field, Pantelis possess good speed with a reported forty-yard dash of sub-4.55, good vision, good route running abilities and quality elusiveness. All in all, it’s safe to say Pantelis could be a Power Five hidden game and it may just take the right program to turn him into a high-caliber wide receiver at the next level. He’s receiving interest from mostly FCS and Group of Five programs but has started to garner some interest from Power 5 programs.
[player_tooltip player_id="27228" first="Omari" last="Hopkins"] (Bishop McDevitt): Part of a very talented Bishop McDevitt team, Hopkins is a wide receiver who has ideal size (6-foot-1, 175-pounds), great speed, and most importantly good set of hands. Hopkins is also a solid route runner and has the ability to play both in the slot and outside thanks to his size and speed. Hopkins projects well to being an FCS level wide receiver.
Jake Lezzar (Clearfield): Our final wide receiver is Jake Lezzar out of Clearfield, Lezzar has similar size to the other four receivers on this list at 6-foot-1 and 186-pounds. On the field, he possess good speed and has a great knack for getting open even if that involves getting creative at times. He shows a pretty good catch radius and has sure hands that allows him to bring in most balls that are thrown in his general vicinity. Lezzar is one of my personal favorite wide receivers in the class and I think he projects well at the FCS level where he could be a quality starting wide receiver for a program.
