Many of the top Class 6A programs in the Albuquerque metro region are preparing for 7-on-7 battle as the second phase of the Albuquerque Metro Passing League begins in earnest.
Beginning Monday night, ‘big school’ programs such as Cleveland, Rio Rancho, Eldorado, Los Lunas, La Cueva, West Mesa, Atrisco Heritage, Volcano Vista, Sandia, Manzano and Cibola will engage in 7x7 competition for 2-1/2 weeks, playing twice per week at various locations.
Rio Grande, St. Pius X and Valencia will also participate.
The league will give us an opportunity to watch some of the top quarterbacks in the state in action: Aiden Armenta (La Cueva), [player_tooltip player_id="139521" first="Evan" last="Wysong"] (Cleveland), [player_tooltip player_id="137885" first="Paul" last="Cieremans"] (Los Lunas) and [player_tooltip player_id="275488" first="Elijah" last="Brody"] (West Mesa), and also give us a peek into how some quarterback battles are going.
Rio Rancho has an ongoing QB battle between [player_tooltip player_id="274972" first="Noah" last="Nelson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="275082" first="Dominic" last="Valencia"].
Games start at 6 p.m. at each location. Games last 30 minutes. Linemen Challenge begins at 6 p.m. as well.
