3A Metro Top Athletes: Offense

The 3A programs within Washington state have some prolific teams within their ranks. The Metro League is mostly compiled of teams surrounding the Seattle area. Here are some athletes who have faced some staunch competition but still showed excellent athleticism and pose. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="333687" first="Brady" last="McKelheer"], </strong>Eastside Catholic High School,  6-0 160 QB Class of 2023 Brady had a solid season in 2021 despite not being able to play in 2020 due to covid sport cancelations. Nevertheless, this athlete did not let that become a stumbling block to his progression. This past season Brady threw for 950+ yards with a 56% completion rate proving his ability to be an efficient passer. What further makes Mckelheer a threat is his ability to step up in the pocket, keep his eyes downfield and make incredible off-balance throws. He has already shown his potential as an athlete this past season however, it will be great to watch Brady exponentially continue to put up monster performances this upcoming fall. As a sophomore, Bo threw for 540+ yards and rushed for another 160+ yards. To be an underclassman and accumulate 700+ yards in a tough division is truly a feat to be noted. He is a do it all athlete who is willing to do what is best for the team. He is an incredibly accurate passer recording a 62% completion rate displaying his ability to read the defense and make quick decisions. Bo does not panic under pressure but instead has composure in the pocket to step up, make the throw or in many cases tuck the ball and run for yardage. Gionet is quite slippery as a ball carrier and does an excellent job making defenders miss. As Bo progresses through his high school career one can expect him to work on his fundamentals and mechanics as a passer. He is certainly an athlete to watch in the upcoming seasons. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15179998/618b604bd45ecc0da0110060">https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15179998/618b604bd45ecc0da0110060</a> <strong>Lyndon Vaivao, </strong>Franklin High School, 6-1 240 QB Class of 2023 Lyndon is a big-bodied Quarterback who can certainly make defenses pay in multiple ways. He flashes a healthy 56% completion rate and threw for over 600 yards in only 5 appearances, which was due to injury. If Lyndon were to get an equal sample size to that of his peers there is no telling what Vaivao would have been able to do. the understanding and command that Vaivao displays when running the offense are certainly notable. He has no issue making tough passes and getting the ball out of his hands promptly is a skill that he often shows. I would like to see Lyndon make more deep throws however efficiency at the quarterback position is a tangible that is also highly valued. Lyndon is certain to demand attention from collegiate programs this fall.
