Continue ReadingEach year, Lassiter hosts their Lutzie 7v7 tournament in honor of Philip Lutzenkirchen, a former Lassiter and Auburn standout that tragically passed in 2014. This year, teams from all across the state gathered for what turned out to be a great day of competition.
Here, we take a look at some of the QBs who stood out.
Jeremy Hecklinski Jeremy Hecklinski 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Walton | 2024 State GA – 2024 – Walton
My personal MVP for the tournament is Hecklinski, who put on an absolute clinic all afternoon. I knew that Hecklinski was good, but after this event, I would put him up against any QB in the 2024 class. He has elite, and I mean elite arm talent with the ability to mix up his arm angle and delivery. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, his delivery is almost identical to Auburn QB Holden Geriner. It’s a longer release, but it is quick and it allows him to rip the ball into tight windows. I could probably count on two hands how many incomplete passes he had the entire afternoon. Almost every single throw was right on the money, and he improved as more pressure mounted later in the event. I am expecting Hecklinski to really make some noise this fall.
2024 Walton (GA) QB Jeremy Hecklinski Jeremy Hecklinski 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Walton | 2024 State GA getting loose…
Has some serious arm talent. Can mix up arm angles and fit the ball into tight windows.
I can’t help but see a little Holden Geriner in his delivery.

Tanner Savasir – 2025 – Cherokee
Savasir was a prospect that I had not seen in person before, and he blew my expectations out of the water. Also like Hecklinski, it seemed like every one of his throws was right on the money. I was most impressed with his composure. He stayed calm and collected throughout the entire day, even when things didn’t go his way. He stood tall in the pocket and made some very impressive throws, especially over the middle of the field where there was plenty of traffic. Savasir will have some big shoes to fill this fall as he will have to replace Vandy signee AJ Swann at QB, but Savasir has all the tools to make that a pretty seamless transition.
2025 Cherokee (GA) QB Tanner Savasir has looked really impressive.
Has the ability to make any throw on the field. Has put the ball into some tight windows. Looks bigger than he did last year too.
Breakout season on the horizon.@TannerSavasir pic.twitter.com/uc9AdmTuEX

Cayman Prangley Cayman Prangley 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Kennesaw Mountain | 2023 State GA – 2023 – Kennesaw Mountain
I had heard that Prangley was having a great summer, and I could see why after watching him perform on Tuesday. He has a natural QB build with a natural release. The ball just flies out of his hand very naturally and he can make all of the throws on the field. What I was most impressed with was his ability to throw his receivers open. It is clear that he and his receivers are on the same page and have great chemistry, which is credit to both Cayman and Kennesaw Mountain. The most impressive play of the afternoon belongs to Prangley and highly touted WR Cayden Lee Cayden Lee 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Hillgrove | 2023 State GA . Prangley made a beautiful throw that Lee brought down with 1 hand. With Prangley at the helm, Kennesaw Mountain will be in good hands this year.
How about this catch from Cayden Lee Cayden Lee 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Hillgrove | 2023 State GA …
He’s a blue chipper for a reason.

Mason Kidd Mason Kidd 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Mountain View | 2023 State GA – 2023 – Mountain View
One of the most fun parts of the afternoon was watching Mason Kidd Mason Kidd 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Mountain View | 2023 State GA and Mountain View make a run to the championship game. Kidd, a Northern Illinois commit, flashed some unbelievable arm strength and touch on the deep ball. There were a few times where he overthrew some receivers, but his unbelievable passes right into the basket of the receivers outweigh that. He also maintained control throughout the event and was never down on himself or his teammates. Kidd was also one of the most physically impressive QBs at the event, as he stands around 6’3. Kidd has some unreal arm talent, and the NIU commit is just starting to reach his full potential.
Didn’t get a video, but Mason Kidd Mason Kidd 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Mountain View | 2023 State GA does the same for Mountain View.
Some great gamesmanship here. https://t.co/Rnqtuz4sy6

Bryson Harrison – 2023 – Lassiter
Lassiter, the hosts of the tournament, made a pretty good run down the stretch with Bryson Harrison at the helm. Harrison was a prospect that I hadn’t heard much about headed into the event, but he was extremely impressive and is someone I will definitely keep track of. There are a few things that really separate Harrison, and one is his ability to throw on the run. He has a very strong arm and can throw across his body and off-platform, Harrison made plays all afternoon which allowed Lassiter to hang around, and that is why he is one of the top performers. Harrison’s day got a little better as he secured an offer from Tennessee Tech.
After talking with @neugs1288 I’m blessed to receive an offer from East Tennessee State University! @ETSUFootball 🔵🟡@CoachJoeHorn @Coach_Thom @FbLassiter @coachtsheehan @CoachTimOnline pic.twitter.com/OhHjxoVKlj

Austin Guest – 2025 – Creekview
Guest is a prospect that I have high expectations for, and he continues to prove why every time I see him. Austin’s game gets a little limited in 7v7 as he isn’t able to show off his ability to run the ball, yet he still performs well. He did great all afternoon on third downs and was extremely confident with his decision-making. He made multiple long TD throws and some into some very tight windows. He and WR Michael Roach hooked up for a few big plays, some of which were for TDs. Guest continues to show that he has a lot of potential, and should continue to get better. I expect Guest to have a big breakout season.
HUGE play right here.
Great throw from Austin Guest, great catch from 2024 Michael Roach. Those two connected again for a TD later in the drive. Roach battled through a PI call. pic.twitter.com/7LTXAKeFH8
