Bonilla is another example of a “pure” all around football player- as I projected him as a player to keep an eye on at the beginning of the season. This kid is everything you could want from a toughness, mean streak perspective for the next level. He landed himself on the 2nd team all conference squad by picking up over 1,500 yards and 17 TD’s on 150 carries, while adding two more TD’s receiving. At the :55 mark on his film he does a great job flashing those active feet with good COD and finishing with top end speed which was a college level run in my opinion. Aside from that, Bonilla runs angry and will frequently run through initial contact. Really exciting kid to watch.

Andres Bonilla, one of five Buena Colts to finish with more than 750 all-purpose yards, solidified himself as one of the most explosive backs in the state during the 2024 season. Standing at 5’10” and weighing 180 pounds, Bonilla’s combination of speed, agility, and vision allowed him to quickly get to the second level. Showing nice power to push through would-be tacklers, Bonilla amassed 1,505 rushing yards on 150 attempts — averaging an impressive 10.8 yards per carry — and scored 19 total touchdowns. His remarkable efficiency was highlighted during a three-game winning streak in which he rushed for 565 yards on 41 carries and scored five times on the ground. Bonilla’s consistent production throughout his high school career led him to become Buena’s all-time leading rusher, surpassing 4,000 career rushing yards.

from Buena is carving out a reputation as a running back you can’t overlook. This workhorse isn’t just about endurance; he pairs it with a speed that keeps defenses on their toes. While he might encounter early contact in the backfield more often than desired, Bonilla’s tenacity shines as he seldom goes down with the first tackler. His innate sense of balance is striking—defenders may get a hand on him, but watching him bounce off and maintain his stride is a testament to his agility. When he approaches a gap, he does so with power. While he’s primarily a north-south runner who lowers his head and charges forth, the addition of some finesse moves could elevate his game even further. What’s undeniable, though, is his commendable leg drive. Whether it’s pushing past a line or breaking free from a tackle, Bonilla’s legs never stop, driving him forward with a power that’s hard to counter.
