Taking his talents to the college level at Cornell this Fall, Cameron had his best season yet in a Spartans uniform where he produced 154 tackles, 12 TFL, 3 sacks and 2 interceptions. Cameron has been a standout backer for multiple years at Knox. Webb where he constantly produced big defensive numbers while being that consistent, dependable leader that showed up each and every Friday. He was a major force for a Spartans defense that was one of the best not just in the East TN region but the entire state. Cameron certainly earned this honor and I would not be surprised to see earn bigger honors upcoming on the collegiate gridiron.

Cooper Cameron Cooper Cameron 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Knox. Webb | 2024 State TN was making plays on both sides of the ball in this contest. On defense, he got involved on many tackles near the LOS and had a pass deflection in coverage showing instincts. On offense, Cameron showed great play speed with the ball in his hands on slide routes. Great toughness and strength to drop shoulders and punish defenders.

Cooper Cameron Cooper Cameron 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Knox. Webb | 2024 State TN plays like a traditional Mike linebacker and gets downhill very quickly off the snap. His aggressiveness pops when watching the film and he makes blockers and ball carriers pay for lining up across from him. Shows good hand usage to stack and shed. As a blitzer, Cameron shows a good instinctive feel to find a path to the QB. Against the pass, he shows solid underneath zone awareness to takeaway throwing lanes. Overall, he loves to run through the opponent with good play strength and toughness.

One of the run stuffers in the state at linebacker is this guy and at the current moment of writing this, Cameron has yet to see those college offers come through, which makes this East Tennessee talent an under the radar prospect that could turn into a hidden gem down the line. The first thing you immediately like about Cameron when you turn on his film is his instincts for finding the ball and his aggressive nature. The Spartans senior linebacker does not hesitate when he diagnoses the play and always finishes with controlled violence. Cameron plays against the run as good as anybody in this state but if he can increase his agility and speed, you will see more collegiate coaches become enticed. Cameron is a solid athlete that has tested well in camps, so I can see the potential for this East Tennessee product to become faster as he matures and grows further into his body. You won’t have to worry about this guy working to get better either as Cameron enjoys the grind and is always in pursuit to enhance his game. His summer camp performances and senior season tape will go a long way towards Cameron watching his recruitment go into a positive direction and I think it’s only a matter of time before it does.

If you were looking for a linebacker that looked the part physically, Cameron is your guy and he is still maturing and growing, so this East Tennessee junior could get even bigger. Standing 6’2 220 pounds, Cameron looks the part and used his size to his advantage during camp last weekend where during 1 on 1 competition, the Spartans linebacker did a good job at slowing up backs and tight ends in their routes then making a play on the ball. Cameron competed at a high level and worked his tail off throughout the entire combine to put forth the best effort and testing numbers that he could. It will be interesting to watch his progression this offseason as Cameron could be one of the best at his position for the East Tennessee region.
