The 2023 offensive line class has many talented players who all possess great traits. Get a look at what guys take the top spot for certain traits. Best Run Blocker- [player_tooltip player_id="30317" first="Johnathan" last="Slack"] | Hudl Slack is an outstanding run blocker and has the playing strength to drive defenders back and control them. Slack is a guy that is always playing to the whistle and looking to finish blocks. Slack moves very well and does a great job of pulling around and getting in front of the guy he is supposed to block. With all these things in consideration, Slack claims the top spot as the best run blocker in the class. Best Technique- [player_tooltip player_id="30318" first="Amir" last="Herring"] | Hudl Herring does a great job of always staying in a good athletic position when run blocking. He does a good job of staying lower than opponents. Herring does a good job of keeping his hands up and active. He has powerful hands and good overall play strength. I like his competitive toughness as well and he will claim the top spot as the best technique. Best First Step- [player_tooltip player_id="30324" first="Dylan" last="Senda"] | Hudl Senda is outstanding when it comes to firing off the football. He will fly out of his stance with bad intentions. Senda is never shy when it comes to contact. There are numerous plays where he gets underneath a guy and either drives him downfield or into the ground. Senda does a good job also of getting into his pass sets quickly. I really like his game a lot and he has one of the most fun highlights to watch. [player_tooltip player_id="30324" first="Dylan" last="Senda"] claims the top spot as the best first step. Most Physical at Point of Attack- [player_tooltip player_id="323538" first="Matthew" last="Nehf"] | Hudl Like Senda, Nehf will fire off the ball quickly with bad intentions. Nehf plays with such good leverage and aggression it is nearly impossible to move. His strength at the point of attack is as good as you will see. His strength really shows in the run game when he drives defenders back. His blocking was a big part of why the DeWitt Panthers were so effective at running the ball up the middle. [player_tooltip player_id="323538" first="Matthew" last="Nehf"] will be a key piece to the DeWitt football team next year and his strength and physicality at the point of attack are terrific. Most Violent Blocker- [player_tooltip player_id="30321" first="Cole" last="Dellinger"] | Hudl Dellinger is a guy that will make defenders pay for coming near him. In pass protection, he will use every bit of strength to make sure defenders get nowhere near his quarterback. He will drive defenders into the ground not only on run plays but in pass plays as well. I love his ability to hold the anchor in pass protection. He will rarely ever get knocked back into the pocket in pass protection. Like all the guys on this list, [player_tooltip player_id="30321" first="Cole" last="Dellinger"] was a very fun player to watch. He is a guy that coaching staffs love to have. You will not need to worry about defenders getting by him on Friday nights.
