With a loaded group of young talent, the Broncos are poised for a big season this fall, and have hopes of winning another state championship. Here are a few Brookwood Broncos to know for the 2020 season.
Marquis Killebrew-Groves- CB/WR- Class of 2022
One of the highest-ranked 2022 prospects in the country, Groves-Killebrew is a pure athlete who is expected to be a major weapon on both sides of the field for the Broncos. At 6-foot-1 180-pounder, Killebrew has great size for a cornerback with the technique and fundamentals to back it up. He started as a sophomore for the powerful Grayson Rams in 2019, and more than held his own against some of the state’s top receivers. Groves-Killebrew is committed to play football at Georgia and will be one of the higher-ranked CB prospects in the entire 2022 class.
Andre Stewart Andre Stewart 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Brookwood | 2022 State GA – DB- Class of 2022
The Broncos have maybe the best CB tandem in the country with Groves-Killebrew and Auburn commitment, Andre Stewart Andre Stewart 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Brookwood | 2022 State GA . The 6-foot-0 178-pounder is a lean defender with length and athleticism. He has great closing speed with long arms to get in and break up passes. He’s a hard worker, and he’s coming off a big sophomore season where he won a state championship playing cornerback for the Marietta Blue Devils. His instincts, closing speed, and experience should help become one of the state’s top defenders this fall.
Dylan Lonegran – QB – Class of 2023
If you’re looking for the next superstar QB in Georgia, it could very well be Brookwood sophomore, Dylan Lonergan Dylan Lonergan 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Brookwood | 2023 State GA . The 6-foot-1 195-pounder has great arm strength, which translates well to the baseball field where he dominates as a starting pitcher. As a QB, he’s built well physically, throws a pretty deep ball, and showed great accuracy for someone his age. He took over the reigns at QB in the middle of his freshman season, and it will be his job until he graduates. LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, Penn State, and Auburn have all offered the young gunslinger, who will be ranked very high in the 2023 class.
Alex Diggs – RB – 2022
He may not be the biggest guy, but Diggs is an elusive weapon at running back who will tote the rock for the Broncos this fall. As a sophomore in 2019, Diggs showed great burst, body control, and the ability to break tackles. He’s athletic, runs with a low center of gravity, and even has the versatility to play defensive back if needed. He’s tough, he runs hard, and he’s incredibly agile. He shows quick feet, and while he’s not a burner, he does have enough speed to break off a long run. He was productive as a sophomore, but Diggs is expected to have his big breakout year as a junior.
