Speed is crucial in the modern era of football now at all levels. The game is continuing to evolve and become more spread out. You see this year’s NFL combine has a ton of receivers running low 4.4s and in the 4.3s for the 40-yard dash. I love to have a player that can just flat-out fly. These guys are some of the top players in the class of 2025. Not only are they great football players they have good speed and quickness to their game that really helps them succeed. The future is very bright for these young guys and I am excited to see them continue to develop their games in the next few years. [player_tooltip player_id="284285" first="Cashus" last="Shivers"] | Hudl Shivers is a tremendous athlete. He is so good on offense and special teams. His speed really shows in his quickness off the line of scrimmage. On the kickoff, Shivers can fly down the field and make tackles before the return man even has a chance to get up to full speed. Shivers has a good build at 6-0, 185 lbs. He is a guy that is only going to get faster and stronger in the next few seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="292554" first="Jaiden" last="Allos"] | Hudl Allos has really good initial quickness. When he is running the ball, he can accelerate out of cuts very quickly. On defense, he does a good job of flipping his hips and turning and running to make a play on the football. Not only does [player_tooltip player_id="292554" first="Jaiden" last="Allos"] have good speed he also has good physicality to his game. [player_tooltip player_id="247639" first="Jonathan" last="Edison Jr"] | Hudl Edison Jr does a great job of accelerating through openings at the running back position. He has a good ability to change direction and run by defenders. You can tell the team trusts his speed as they run a lot of pitch plays to him when he is lined up in the backfield. Edison’s speed shows up on defense as well when he turns and runs with wide receivers. [player_tooltip player_id="247647" first="Deshaun" last="Lanier"] | Hudl Lanier’s speed stands out at wide recvier. You can see him fly past opposing defensive backs on go routes. Lanier has the speed and athleticism to take interceptions all the way back for touchdowns. Lanier’s quickness off the line of scrimmage allows him to easily beat defenders on slant routes. [player_tooltip player_id="247647" first="Deshaun" last="Lanier"] has a muscular frame and should continue to add muscle to his frame. You have to believe that he is due for another big season for Chippewa Valley. [player_tooltip player_id="340967" first="Connor" last="ORourke"] | Hudl ORourke is a guy at the receiver position that can get open quickly if he gets a free release off the line of scrimmage. ORourke makes cuts quickly and gets open on in-breaking routes. ORourke’s stop-start ability allows him to easily make defenders miss after the catch. Mattawan likes to play ORourke in the slot which is very smart since he is good at getting open and coming back to the football. A receiver like ORourke is critical for a team. As a quarterback, you have to love having a receiver like [player_tooltip player_id="340967" first="Connor" last="ORourke"] on your football team.
