Dudley was originally committed to the University of Colorado but reopened his recruitment after former head coach Mel Tucker left for the job at Michigan State. That opened the door for a few more programs to gain his interest. Dudley had narrowed his final list to four schools, with Colorado State, Washington State and Arizona joining Boise State in hoping to land him.
A two-year starter on both sides of the ball, Dudley has been a force to reckon with in the passing game. On offense, he has great chemistry with his quarterback and Colorado State commit Luke McAllister Luke McAllister 6'4" | QB Palmer Ridge | 2021 State CO , resulting in 65 career receptions for 1,135 yards and 15 touchdowns. While he was beating defenders and hauling in catches on offense, he was also roaming the secondary, recording 124 tackles, 14 interceptions and a forced fumble. His play has garnered him All-State recognition while helping Palmer Ridge win back-to-back state championships in Class 3A in 2018 and 2019.
Dudley, listed at 6-foot and 189 pounds, shows great skills running after the catch for big plays in the spread offense for Palmer Ridge. He is a gifted athlete as well with great speed to beat defenders down the field while able to win jump balls with coverage all over him. In addition to his success on the gridiron, Dudley has been a successful track athlete in the spring.
With his commitment, Boise State has five hard commits for the Class of 2021. Dudley was the second athlete to commit to the program on Friday, joining quarterback Taylen Green from Lewisville, Texas.
